Whiteout Cocoa. This post will be short and sweet since I'm going out of town for a few days, but I couldn't let another day pass without sharing this recipe!

Whiteout Cocoa

This is an absolutely delicious white chocolate cocoa, and it couldn't be easier to make. The original recipe uses full-fat ingredients, but I've lightened it up a bit. So feel free to go crazy with copious amounts of whipped cream or even giant oven-toasted marshmallows. I won't tell.Whiteout Cocoa 8-10 servings [click for printable version] 6 cups skim milk 2 cups fat-free half and half 12 oz. package white chocolate chips (I used Ghiradelli) 1 tablespoon vanilla Whipped cream and nonpareils for topping 1. 2.

Note: If the mixture is left for very long at room temperature, the fat from the white chocolate will rise to the surface. Italian sodas - StumbleUpon. June 30, 2011 | Sweet Recipes | Comments Growing up, these Italian sodas were my favorite!!

My mom and I would always stop by a little coffee shack on our road trips to Oregon. I remember ordering the blueberry Italian soda in the summer instead of ice cream because they were so refreshing. I hadn’t had one of these since I was a kid, so I wanted to recreate the easy recipe. I even made my own blueberry and strawberry syrup instead of using Torani. Photo Credit: Sugar and Charm. This cooler is easy to make, beautiful to behold, and not too sweet. Garnish: lemon slices; mint sprigs Preparation Cut watermelon flesh into 2-inch chunks and discard rind. Cold-brewed iced coffee. Since I began working from home, I have no doubt I have saved a ton of money by not buying those yogurt-granola cups and salad bar lunches everyday.

What I haven’t saved even a penny on, however, is my iced coffee habit. If anything, it’s gotten worse. Or better, depending on how you look at it. The first month, I spent a lot of time at Starbucks, yet not because I am addicted to their coffee, but the other unspoken the Opiate of the Freelancing Class: Free wireless. But after a few weeks, the loud and generally awful music (greatly compensated for by playing Hallelujah often, however, they’d play the John Cale version and that’s the wrong one and yes, I have digressed this far) and the fact that even at 9 a.m., the bathrooms smelled like a barn. Enter my newly-purchased wireless card, and suddenly I have freedom to work at wonderful coffee shops with from Joe to 9th Street to Grumpy to you-name-it, I’ve been to them all. Where has this been my whole life?

Yield: Two drinks.
