OA journal funds - OAD

This is a list of funds to support OA journals. The funds may be hosted by universities, research centers, foundations, or government agencies. Currently, all the funds listed here are designed to pay publication fees at fee-based OA journals. If funds emerge to support no-fee OA journals , they belong here as well. When possible, annotate the funds with their launch dates, end dates (if any), special criteria, funding limits or cost-ceilings, and other notable features. http://oad.simmons.edu/oadwiki/OA_journal_funds

Peter Suber, Open Access Overview (definition, introduction)

http://www.earlham.edu/~peters/fos/overview.htm This is an introduction to open access (OA) for those who are new to the concept. I hope it's short enough to read, long enough to be useful, and organized to let you skip around and dive into detail only where you want detail. It doesn't cover every nuance or answer every objection.

Marna Hauk October 11, 2010/AASHE Conference/ Denver, Colorado, US/ Julian Agyeman woke up Sustainability in Higher Education experts Monday morning with an eloquent, clarion call for Just Sustainability . Professor Agyeman , Tufts Chair of Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning and a global leader in justice and the environment, has studied both the sustainability paradigm and environmental justice movements to synthesize an approach of Just Sustainability. Professor Agyeman and his student researchers earlier this decade found that the two paradigms of sustainability and environmental justice operate fairly independently, and that while more than 40% of US cities in the U.S. had sustainability websites, only five U.S. cities mentioned environmental justice.
