More Tweets than People
It’s worth noting, however, that the official population counter updates less frequently. The live population counter on Worldometers has the world population at 6.8134 billion (which still means there’s more tweets than people). Just completed chapter 3 of, "I Don't Have Shit to Say - but I Hope You Quote Me". Will start writing CH 4 mañana. Maybe.
Charlie is the guy that asked me what the difference (in 1980 dollars) was between making 700K a year in baseball and making 100K a year – 10% more effort – a ten percent better batting average. That has caused me to try harder for the last 30 years. Charlie is the guy that chewed me out for 20 minutes about not having a “lighted and magnified” headset in stock – when I should have had 5 according to my inventory levels. My excuse was that I thought they were stupid, and “nobody ever buys them”. To wit, Charlie replied, “Then you should have five of them!”.

Of course, part of what’s made @BreakingNews so successful is the team behind it; how long those people stay with the project and MSNBC’s ability to staff the service with its own editors of comparable quality will have much to do with its ongoing success. The company says it plans to continue to build the BreakingNews brand in the same way that’s made it successful thus far, which is both by being exceptionally fast, but also by linking to any source that breaks news first — including MSNBC competitors. Charles Tillinghast, president of the MSNBC Digital Network, said in a statement : “Hard and fast breaking news is currently an underserved market. With www.breakingnews.com we can now provide the optimal solution.”
