First I want to say many thanks to Anna of Noodlehead for inviting me to participate in her 'Spice Up Your Kitchen' week. It's been a challenge to say the least to try to come up with something worthy of all the fabulous talent going on over there! I am an organization freak. I think that I enjoy the process more than the end result. Which is a good thing since nothing stays organized for long with 2 kids running around the house; my wild and inquisitive 2 year old daughter and my 29 year old man-child/husband, to be specific. The general idea is that there are seven pockets in this organizer that you could use to hold the recipe cards for all the meals (or just dinners if you are like me) you plan to cook for the week.

We ended up doing something else but these turned out so cute I thought I would do a tutorial on how to make them. These little tubes shoot a little burst of confetti when you twist them. The problem is they are usually ugly and the confetti inside them is usually poor quality (like five little sad strands.) So what we did here is strip the label, disassemble the spring mechanism. We were going to do these as save-the-dates but they would work great as party invitations for any event. Make-up Magnet Board. One of the easiest I've ever made. Don't have much sewing experience? Give this a go, I promise it's a piece of cake and any mistakes made are hardly noticeable because of the gather. Materials: 5/6 + yard knit & 1/3 yard silk, cotton, etc. DIY Box Braid Necklace. The moment we saw Phillip Lim‘s Box Braid Collar Necklace, we were immediately overcome with a wave of nostalgia. And in case you forgot how to make your favorite childhood summertime craft, take a trip down memory lane with us! Start by cutting the suede in 4 three-yard pieces. How to make a Nautical HeadbandMaterials:-4 yds of rope or ribbon cut into 4 equal strands-1/2 yd 1 inch twill-hair band-sewing needle-thread The following pictures show you step by step how to make the sailor's knot with your first two strands of rope. Pay careful attention to which strand is on top or under the other. For more help click here. Now take your third and fourth strands of rope and snake them side by side into the knot by the first two strands. Slowly pull the knot tighter, keeping it even and the knot flat. Here is a closeup of how the knot should look now. Take your needle and thread and about 1 inch from the knot sew together the four strands of rope to keep them flat on the back..
Repeat on the other side. Here is the front. Trim your ropes so that all of the ends are even and the whole thing is about 19 inches long with the knot at about 7 1/2 inches (so that it is on the side of your head).
