Cozy Camera Case Tutorial > amy a la mode. As promised, here is a tutorial on how to make a cute little quilted Cozy Camera Case for your point and shoot camera. This one fits my Canon G10, which is 4.3″ x 3.06″ x 1.81″ (according to the manual — I promise I’m not that anal about measuring things!) , but lots of other cameras will fit in it too. You can also adjust the size of the pieces easily to make a case for a larger or smaller camera. One other thing to note is that I initially left the main panel piece a little extra long and then decided before attaching the binding how long I wanted the front flap to be and trimmed it to the right size.

I really wanted to make it longer, but I didn’t want to be pushing against the lens all the time to snap it closed, so it ended up on the shorter side (not as aesthetically pleasing in my opinion, but better for the camera!). Templates for the pieces are available here, or feel free to wing it! Enjoy! Materials: Instructions: Step 1. Step 2. Step 3. Step 4. Step 5. Step 6. Step 7. Step 8. Mod Podge Basics. To turn a pot holder into a Flat Iron Holder, I first found this cute polka dot potholder at Dollar Tree. Then I sewed up the side vertically and along the bottom. And now maybe my new Chi will last as long as it should this time! You could also fold it the other way and sew horizontally and along the bottom for a sunglass holder! That's my next project. Keeping it Simple. Stephanie and Such. A pretty cool life. Heating Pad Tutorial | The Green Wife. So this is a project that’s been in the back of my mind for months, but it took finding the perfect fabric to get motivated and get going on it.

When I laid my eyes on Amy Butler’s LOVE flannels, I knew it was time. I chose this vibrant, yet soothing flannel and got busy. See, there’s a particular day each month *ahem* that makes me yearn for a good, heavy heating pad, but by the time my body reminds me that I want it….well, I’m just too crabby to sew. ;) This month, though, I’m prepared. Gorgeous, right? If only you could feel, smell and pet it. It turns out that Amy Butler’s super-luxurious flannel + rice + lavender essential oils = heaven. I didn’t have the details for the heating pad worked out in my mind, but I find if I just start cutting fabric….it just all works out. Ready to begin? Cut two 19″ x 8″ rectangles of high quality flannel. Serge (without cutting fabric) one of the short ends of each piece. Pin your pieces right sides together. Now you’re nice and reinforced. I think. Easy iPhone Sleeve Tutorial | Dog Under My Desk. **UPDATE 10/31/12 – Welcome to all the new visitors finding their way here from some of the holiday tutorial roundups! When you are making this, please keep in mind that if you or your intended gift recipient has an iPhone 5, this sleeve won’t fit. The iPhone 5 is .37″ taller than the iPhone 4/4s. Adding .75″ to the total length of the fabric piece that you cut out should compensate nicely. One of these days I will redesign it with a front pocket and a strap closure, but right now I need to focus on my patterns. I’ve been using my wristlet for my phone, which I love!

So you might consider that, too! Download here: Easy iPhone Sleeve Tutorial PDF Please feel free to ask any questions or leave me comments in this post! This sleeve will fit the iPhone 4 with a lightweight case like the Incipio Feather or the Incase Snap Case. This sleeve is supposed to fit very snugly so the phone does not fall out.

Diaper/Wipes Case. YAY!!!! We’re up and running again. You never realize how much you use the internet until you don’t have it any more. I even rely on it to get my recipes for dinner some nights. I had all the ingredients Monday night for a recipe that I found online but then couldn’t make it without the internet. So, my latest creation has been a fun one. First of all, I am using the Huggies brand diaper wipes portable case. If you do want the strips, cut 3 pieces of 2 x 5 inch rectangles, in each color. Now, cut out 2 pieces of felt that are 9 x 5 as well. TIP: Just glue a little bit at a time so that your glue is nice and hot while attaching the fabric to the felt, creating a secure hold. Okay, on to the case. Free sewing project: Flat Travel Case for Baby Wipes. B.jane brewing: a simple tree tee. Got scraps? Well then... You can make a simple tree tee too! I used fabric glue for the tee, but you can sew these on too. I hand stitched the bow. Ear Warmers...simplified tutorial. It’s been getting brisk around here so I made a couple more ear warmers. This is one {below} that was inspired by a church talk that’s been on my mind a lot lately…found here. With little Forget Me Nots peppered up the side.

I’ll admit. I so badly wanted this one to turn out better than it did. I felt a bit limited by the fleece colors available at three different fabric stores. I also made this yellow one. I know the bow is a bit – um – big and ostentatious, but I can’t help but like it. :) These ear warmers are VERY simple and so cozy warm. So, I figured now was a good time to share the tutorial again…simplified. Here goes… You can use an old wool sweater that has been shrunk a few too many times (felted) but fleece is inexpensive and cinch to use as well. A quarter yard of fleece is enough to make two adult ear warmers depending on how much embellishing you want to do.

I finally got around to making a paper pattern as you see here. Cut your ear warmer out in the shape you desire. P.S. Creative DIY Tips & Project Ideas For Homemakers. Circle Zip Earbud Pouch Tutorial | Dog Under My Desk. I use a little zippered pouch to carry around my earbuds since they are the fancy microphone ones and I don’t want them to break or get tangled.

Some of you have commented that you are looking for some small, simple gift ideas. This is definitely simple to make, and a little more fun than the typical rectangular zippered pouch! I can see these as the perfect gift for teenage cousins or nieces or girlfriends or even teacher gifts. Fun, quick, and cute! It doesn’t take very much fabric so you could even use scraps!

Sometimes I have the perfect fabric for something but I only have a fat quarter, or I want to make something extra with the leftovers from another project. UPDATE: I have completely re-written this tutorial with twice as many bright, clear photos and more detailed instructions and it is available as a pattern in my pattern shop.
