7 Ways To Enhance Your iPhone Photos With Creative Blur. We’ve all snapped photos with our iPhones that were unintentionally blurry. But have you ever considered using blur as a creative effect to enhance your photos? It may seem illogical to add blur to a perfectly focused photo. In this tutorial you’ll discover seven ways to edit your iPhone photos with creative blur.

Why Use A Blur Effect? Depending on how it’s used, blur can project a feeling of soft dreaminess or dynamic action. Sometimes, adding blur is the first step of the photo editing process. Or, you might use blur to complete the editing process and give your photo a unique edge. The blur also serves dual purposes. Let’s take a look at seven different creative blur effects that you can apply to your iPhone photos. 1. Apple today put its hotly anticipated iOS 8 mobile operating system into the hands of its toughest critics: the users, and iPhoneographers particularly have been champing at the bit to discover how it all works on the camera that’s always in their pockets. Photographers and videographers have two main points of entry within the mobile operating system: the Camera app and the Photos app, with iCloud increasingly playing a dominant role. Here’s the lowdown on updates — both major and minor — that will become obvious the minute you upgrade your iPhone’s OS.

While Apple has already offered plenty of details about photography improvements in the new iPhone 6 that will arrive on Friday, the following observations are based on running the brand new OS on an older iPhone 5. Even if you don’t choose to upgrade to one of the new iPhone 6 models just yet, iOS 8 will make your older photo utilities more capable and flexible. But with thousands of iPhone photo editing apps available on the App Store, it can be difficult to know which ones to use. In this article you’re going to discover the 10 best photo editing apps that many iPhone photographers recommend to use. You don’t need to be an expert in lots of photo editing apps. I tend to use just two or three apps on a regular basis for image enhancement, and then a few others for specific tasks such as photo montages or removal of unwanted items.

Some of the best apps are even free to download from the App Store! 1. Snapseed is a powerful image editing app that’s really easy to use, and it’s completely free to download from the App Store! I happened to be driving home a few mornings ago, around 5:30am, so I seized a rare opportunity to catch the early sunrise. I noticed, for the first time, a layer of thick white mist or fog hovering over the grass on the farmlands stretching across both sides of this rural road that I drive almost every day.

Of course, I stopped and took a slew of pictures! It is amazing how photography has opened my eyes to every day little things that I ordinarily miss because I am too busy or preoccupied with thought to notice. We function on autopilot so much of the time, unaware of our surroundings, blind to the beauty that exists all around us. We drive familiar roads mindlessly, by rote, with our minds on everything but what we are experiencing in the present moment.

Lately, I find myself practicing mindfulness daily, ever since I got my iphone and discovered the art of iphoneography. Nothing is Ordinary! The Getaway By JAMES HILL Every family has its designated vacation photographer, so it was, to put it mildly, a moment of sheer horror when I arrived at the Naples airport last summer with my wife and two children for a brief stay on the Amalfi Coast and realized that I had forgotten my camera. It wasn’t the first time. Many years ago, a friend asked me to photograph his wedding. I packed film but for some reason left my usual camera, a Nikon single-lens reflex, behind and found myself left with a simple Ricoh point-and-shoot camera. But as it turns out there is a savior: your smartphone. Of course, cellphones have their limitations, and it’s important to understand what they do well: landscapes and portraits in good, even light.

There is also a host of apps available for Apple-, Windows- and Android-based systems, though the choice is wider for the iPhone.
