My hair is pretty straight and fine naturally and I always let it air dry. Since I go about three days between washes, I like to curl it on the first day and let it mellow out into some nice waves over the next two. Let's get started! If your hair doesn't hold curl very well then you may want to put a palmful of curling mousse in it when it is halfway dry. (though I want to upgrade to one of the fancy new ones from Sultra soon!) When I'm done curling the bottom section, I mist it with Bumble and bumble Spray de Mode and comb through the curl with my fingers. Ahh!! If you want to dress it up a little, you can do a braided headband look!
Find a spot on the opposite side of your head and pin it so that it blends in naturally with the rest of your hairstyle. Well, that's it! How to Dye your Hair Purple. 1 December 2012 In the previous article in this series, I talked about how unnatural colours are translucent. This means that if your hair is dark and you put a pale purple dye on it, the results won’t be noticeable. Conversely, if you apply dye to very light hair (platinum blonde) the results will be much brighter and more vibrant.
It’s like applying watercolour paint to a dark sheet of paper; nothing really shows up. If you paint onto white paper the paint comes out as you expected. Dyeing Without Damage When it comes to purple there is a huge range of dyes, shades and tones to choose from and the great news is that brands such as Directions, Special Effects, Manic Panic, Stargazer, Crazy Color, Punky Color, Fudge and Adore don’t contain any peroxide so won’t damage your hair. I made this a printable tutorial, so all of the steps are next to the photos. So naturally I click on the picture to see a tutorial and I just end up on an image. No tutorial. But I'm thinking... I like to sleep on damp braids to get pretty waves in the morning- this just might work. Here is my hair before, completely straight. Split all of your hair into two parts and then braid each part and secure with a hair tie of your choosing.
Take one of the braids and twist it tightly away from your face. Place the straightener around the twisted braid and instead of just pulling the straightener down... Twist the straightener in the same direction the hair is twisted. This is what the braids looked like after being "straightened. It's a very high ponytail on the top of your head to protect your curls while you sleep. The name comes from the shape of your hair if put in correctly.

When I was little, maybe 5 years old, my mum took me to the hair dressers and told them to give me what can only be described as a boy haircut. I’ve been scarred ever since. So I’ve been trying to grow my hair long for years now, I usually wuss out and end up getting a big chunk chopped off (never to the extent of the boy haircut that was surreptitiously thrust upon me!).
This time I’m determined to have shiny mermaid length hair!! Over the past 6 or so months I think I’ve added about 5-6inches of hair, and that’s with a few trims in between. Lay off the heat styling. Natural looking beach curls in under 20 minutes! Head Scarf Tutorial. After many requests, I finally made a tutorial on how to tie a simple head scarf. It's really, really easy. I did this without looking in the mirror, so that should tell you how easy it is.
Let's get started! Start with a large, square scarf. I like my vintage silk scarves because they're soft and not bulky. Fold one corner to the other to form a triangle. Fold the corner down to about the middle, and then fold over again (but not all the way to the edge, because you want it to be a little thicker). Put the scarf around your head with the ends in the front, making sure the wrong side of the scarf (the part where you can see the folds) is against your head.
Tie it in a loose knot at the front. Tuck the ends behind/underneath the scarf. Done!
