I decided to mime the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide using catalase from liver and got the students to film me miming ( with a few props and prompt cards!) Their task was then to go off and write the script for the voice over. Working in groups of three made the task manageable and also meant they were all involved with the task. It worked really well and the students produced some stunning work as a result. followed up with the nice little pectinase demo to show the breaking down and building up of molecules enabled them to move on from the idea that enzymes speed up the break down to speeding up the making of new molecules.
