Microsoft Recite: Notetaking by Voice. Microsoft will announce a notetaking application for mobile phones tomorrow that lets you record messages and search through them using your voice. Debuting at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Microsoft Recite is a notetaking and search application for Windows Mobile phones that lets you record a voice message, then retrieve the messages later using pattern recognition technology (see video below). The Technology Preview of the application is available for download on the Recite site, and currently works on a limited number of handsets. It may turn out to be useful app for those with Windows Mobile devices, but it's notable (pardon the pun) that Windows Mobile devices lack the breadth and depth of innovation applications enjoyed by iPhone users.
Screenshot Tour: A First Look at Google Voice. @hebrewhammer770: This is exactly the reason that I don't really use my account. I generally give my Grand Central number out to people that ask for my number, but I don't really want to talk to... (head-hunters/etc.) since I can filter them like "spam" but talk to them if I want/need to. I want Google to (and suspect they are on the same page) add a number that users can dial from any phone that uses speech recognition to allow voice dialing (by name from your contact list, or by number). Google could then make users outgoing calls appear to originate from their Grand Central/Google Voice phone number. This would solve my usability problem, and give Google what it wants... logs of all of my phone calls. @hebrewhammer770: You can do that if your online easily enough by clicking "Call" on one of your contacts.
A simpler way would be great though. @hebrewhammer770: This is something I just figured out. GoogleVoiceNumber,2FriendsPhoneNumber# Where GoogleVoiceNumber = Your G/GC # , = Pause. Finding your Blogging “Voice” - Blog Flux. Convert Text to Speech Free. Listen to any document, website or.
