Whether you’re artistically inclined or not, sometimes you just need to whip up an illustrative or entertaining image for a blog post or presentation. The tools on this list help you generate respectable graphics in a jiffy — design talent optional! Most of the tools on this list are web-based and as easy to use as filling in a web form. We’ve added a couple of desktop applications that make visual communication a lot quicker and easier, even for those of us without a ton of graphic design skills. 1.
Want to encourage people to follow you on Twitter? Here are some free graphics to put on your site for that purpose- just place the image on your site and link to your Twitter profile. (IE6 doesn’t handle transparent PNGs of course, so if you need transparency and you still get a lot of traffic from people using IE6, choose the GIF) If you’re wondering why they look slightly different, it’s because I forgot that transparency might be necessary for some until too late, and had to go back and recreate the GIFs!
