Maison Gabrielle-Roy National Historic Site was the family home where Gabrielle Roy was born in 1909 and lived until 1937 It was the heart of a vibrant world of people and events that deeply inspired her writing. Perhaps best known for her novel Bonheur d'occasion (The Tin Flute) published in 1945, she is considered to be one of the most important French writers in Canadian history and one of the most influential Canadian authors.
