Green Corps teens learn while turning vacant lots into vibrant urban farms Green Corps’ mission is to build life, work and leadership skills by employing and educating high school youth (ages 14 to 18) through the practice of sustainable agriculture, place-based learning and community engagement.
Each year, Green Corps employs and educates an average of 70 to 75 teenagers that live within the city to work at one of six urban learning farms. Cleveland high school students interested in earning and learning this summer can fill out a Green Corps application here and submit it by 5 pm on Friday, March 28, 2014. There are no set criteria for who can apply to Green Corps, providing an equal opportunity for any individual youth to work for the program as well as a chance to meet students from other schools and from around the city. Internships | Ohio Magazine. EDITORIAL INTERNSHIPS Ohio Magazine is currently seeking an editorial intern to assist with the magazine and its custom publications. The ideal candidate is entering his/her junior or senior year and is a journalism or English major, although recent grads are welcome to apply as well. We are looking for a student with strong writing skills, knowledge of AP style, and strong spelling, punctuation, grammar and phone skills. Job duties include fact checking and researching stories and listings, writing short articles and compiling some of our special editorial sections. This is an unpaid, part-time internship; however, we reimburse for parking or bus pass. Scheduling and hours are flexible.
