Thought. Belief. A belief is a firm thought that something is true, often based on revelation.
Belief is usually a part of belonging to a religion. It is different to scientific knowledge that can be tested, but belief is not able to be tested. For example, a person may believe in God or gods. Monster. Kraken. Kraken (/ˈkreɪkən/ or /ˈkrɑːkən/)[1] is a legendary sea monster of giant proportions that is said to dwell off the coasts of Norway and Greenland.
The legend may have originated from sightings of giant squid that are estimated to grow to 13–15 m (40–50 ft) in length, including the tentacles.[2][3] The sheer size and fearsome appearance attributed to the kraken have made it a common ocean-dwelling monster in various fictional works. History[edit] In the late 14th century version of the Old Icelandic saga Örvar-Oddr is an inserted episode of a journey bound for Helluland (Baffin Island) which takes the protagonists through the Greenland Sea, and here they spot two massive sea-monsters called Hafgufa ("sea mist") and Lyngbakr ("heather-back").[4][5] The hafgufa is believed to be a reference to the kraken: There is a fish that is still unmentioned, which it is scarcely advisable to speak about on account of its size, because it will seem to most people incredible.
Deity. Many people believe that a deity is a powerful spirit that controls events and the nature of things.
Deities are also called gods. A female god is often called a goddess. Spirit. Some types of distilled alcoholic drinks are also called spirits (as a plural, not "spirit").
A spirit is considered to be the part of a being that is not the body. Other words with the same meanings are soul and ghost. When a body is alive, it has a spirit in it. Death is when the spirit separates from the body. Christians believe that spirits exist in Heaven or Hell.
