You can play hopscotch, four-square, and of course draw and create silly stories. My daughters and I were talking one day as we played hopscotch about how to make chalk and I thought to myself, let’s try it! It ended up being quite a lot of fun. What you will need: • Toilet paper or paper towel tubes • Scissors • Duct tape • Wax paper • Small bucket or disposable container to make the recipe • ¾ cup of warm water • 1 ½ cups Plaster of Paris • 2-3 tablespoons of tempera paint • Paper bag or a “mess mat” ** we made six tubes of chalk – we simply doubled the above recipe Step 1: If you are using paper towel tubes, cut each tube in half, so it is roughly the length of a toilet paper roll tube. Step 2: Cover one end of each tube with duct table to hold the contents within. Step 3: Cut as many pieces of wax paper as you have tubes. Mia Pearlman's Take Home Paper Sculptures. The slice of cake on the left is called “Bamboo” and it is from the most inspiring patisserie I’ve visited in Paris: Sadaharu Aoki. At Sadaharu Aoki, located just a few blocks away from Jardin du Luxembourg (the largest public park in Paris), you can see his detail-oriented nature in everything he presents. And what makes him incredibly unique is his ability to incorporate Japanese ingredients into classic French pastries with refinement and subtlety. I wasn’t allowed to take photos inside the shop, so I can only show what I bought. Let’s start with chocolate. The one on the left is milk chocolate with yuzu and the other two are white chocolate, flavored with matcha.

And here are bon bons filled with flavored ganache. Secret Belgian Binding Instructions. The Secret Belgian Binding These instructions show you how to bind a book with an interesting pattern of weaving which laces the front and back covers to the spine.

Included is the sewing of the text block (a set of four signatures) which is attached to the inside spine of the cover. The secret is in the weave of the cover and in attaching the text block. It is not difficult to do but requires patience in getting the threads taut so that the book does not wobble. Hedi Kyle rediscovered this binding attributed to the Belgians and she solved the mystery of how to make it. The materials and tools needed are as follows: Questions or comments? Cleaning up your act isn't as straightforward as running to the pharmacy and picking out a bottle covered in claims of eco-friendliness and biodegradability, however. When it comes to home cleaning products a lot of eco claims are unverified and—worse—unverifiable, with rare exceptions like Seventh Generation.
