Local 360 Brand & Identity Design Seattle restaurant Local 360 needed their visual identity built from the ground up, starting with a logo and extending through a coordinated system of signage, menus, and merchandise.

The ethical foundation for the restaurant is to source the majority of their ingredients from a 360-mile radius of Seattle's Belltown neighborhood where they are located. Our aesthetic vision was to blend a turn-of-the-century mercantile vibe with a culinarily refined dining experience. The resulting look is rustic, handcrafted, and elegant. The interior design reinforces this vision with subtle neutral tones, raw salvaged wood & steel beams. The print approach reinforces the brand principles by using locally hand-printed letterpress business cards and 100% recycled papers for all menus and signage. Sleep Op's relationship with Local 360 continues as we develop packaging for new food products.

Recognizing the opportunity to do something bold and unique (and probably taking some inspiration from the 1988 arcade game "Bad Dudes") I suggested we build the identity around the idea of weapons you might encounter in an alley fight. All illustrations and lettering were done quickly with a fat, black marker to capture the feeling of a cardboard sign you might find discarded in an alley. The Parcel Yard - Designers Anonymous. The Parcel Yard is a new Fuller’s Gastropub occupying a Listed building formerly used as the parcels office at King’s Cross Station.

With a large atrium and original period features, the interior had many reminders of its previous postal role. To reflect this heritage, the new gastropub needed a coherent, credible graphic identity. We were asked to create a logo, menus, social media skins and launch invitations in time for the grand opening. Reflecting The Parcel Yard’s heritage, we designed a logo based on a Post Office cancellation mark, redesigned to resemble parallel railway lines. We also created a set of stamps featuring a cockerel to represent breakfast, a domed silver platter for dining and an elegant nose for the wine list.

Staying true to the design theme, we delivered all the elements of the identity on time. The identity was immediately appreciated by customers and other Fuller’s marketing managers.
