Journos + Bloggers Oz
From bar tales to a much-loved mag
Before long it had grown to 24 pages, and thanks to a strong Twitter presence had attracted the attention of some talented bloggers, such as Pobjie, who wanted to be involved. ''I didn't realise how much bloggers love the idea of appearing in print, but they get terribly excited by it,'' Shaw says. There was a slight downside, though, to the growing fame. ''We don't publish the guys from the bar any more, and occasionally I feel a bit bad about that.'' Still, there was something in the idea of a local newsletter not full of hard-rubbish collection dates and neighbourhood watch notices that seemed right. So they did a second issue, with many of the bar's regulars chipping in.
