Start knitting in stockinette and place markers (PM) on the beginning of the next round, and then with intervals of 21 s inbetween = 4 markers in total. Using coloursAfter the first solid field, we knitted every second round in alternating colours to create a fading effect. Repeat these 2 rounds until you have increased a total of 23 times = 268 s, and stop after round 1. You should decrease like this 8 times in total 144 s. Hemlock Ring. It was brought to my attention that the Hemlock Ring Pattern has a mistake — the mistake was in the original pattern written in 1942.

Hemlock Ring

And I know this for a fact because Diane brought a vintage pattern book to knitting group and the pattern was there, mistake and all. When I knitted my Hemlocks, I must have just fixed it as I went along and did not pay much attention. Owlie Sleep Sack

Everyone knows a happy baby is made by snuggling and swaddling in some comfy single ply merino. Below is a pattern for a sleep sack with owlies on the top. Simple enough really. This is one size. THIS IS NOT MEANT TO BE SLEPT IN. The matching hat can also be found on this blog. Endpaper Mitts

I've been a little stalled out on the knitting, lately (yes, even the entrelac): my brain is abubble with plans and ideas, I'm loving a lot of projects recently out, but when it gets right down to it - nothing much seems very appealing to knit right now. You know the feeling? Just a general...blah. Seems just now, I'd rather cook, or read, or curl up with a cup of coffee, without ever-present yarn and needles in-hand.

I think it's just plain old fatigue, really - lately, nothing I've knit has felt like much fun. Enter the Endpaper Mitts. They'll also be eminently practical: the house is kept chilly year-round (can't abide a stuffy room), but stiff fingers aren't an option. A pair is made of two identical, reversible mitts. I will collect this into a printer-friendly PDF for free download eventually, but the HTML version follows below. Endpaper Mitts Gauge, Needles and Notions (see below for sizing notes) Other notions: blunt tapestry needle. Cuff Palm.
