The Hunger Games French Braid. The Hunger Games braided hair style is a-buzzin’ at the moment, so I thought I’d braid one up and give you a quick little semi-tutorial for it, just in case you were interested.

The Hunger Games French Braid

The braid is basically my Side French Braid low up-do hair tutorial but left out instead of pinned up and braided UNDER instead of OVER as seen above and called the Inside out French braid or a Cornrow. It’s done exactly the same way as a regular French braid but instead of braiding over the other sections, you braid them under, creating this bulbous braid that sort of sits atop your head rather than against it. See the difference… {this one below is also a bit looser} Here’s my original side French braid hair tutorial… but leave the braid out rather than pinning it up at the end and again, braid each section UNDER the other rather than OVER. Shown below is a more relaxed and wearable style, leaving much of the front section out and waving it… Have Fun! Find all my Hair Tutorials Here. A NEW TWIST. Oh I do love vintage waves for special occasions…especially weddings!

Bridal Hair: Vintage Waves

{I’d wear my hair Rita Hayworth style everyday if my hair could handle it!} A bride with glossy, vintage waves just screams Hollywood glamour. No prizes for guessing what hairstyle I went for on my wedding day! For the past few years, celebrities have really embraced vintage curls and waves on the red carpet.

This look works best on mid length to long hair ~ shorter hair is best suited to Marcel waves which lie flat to the head. I personally feel that this style is so dramatic that it’s best to keep hair accessories simple ~ no big statement pieces. Birdcage or Mantilla veils would hide those beautiful, defined curls around the face so I’d go for a flyaway, pouffy veil or longer chapel veil ~ if any. Onto the tutorial… Here’s how to achieve this look at home ~ however, I’d always recommend having a trial with a professional, if you can.
