The Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) is a one-year, university-based, course for graduates that wish to undergo initial teacher training (ITT) to achieve the professional standards required for the award of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is the accreditation that enables you to teach in state-maintained and special schools in England and Wales. Our PGCE programmes focus on the development of the necessary skills, knowledge and understanding that relate to learning and teaching in schools.
