Slow Cooker Honey Baked Ham

http://www.sixsistersstuff.com/2012/12/slow-cooker-honey-baked-ham.html When we were growing up, we ate Christmas dinner over at our Grandma's house every year. She is just a tiny little thing, but she can cook like it's nobody's business! One of my favorite Christmas dinners is her delicious ham. I can still remember walking into her house and smelling that yummy ham cooking in the oven. This recipe is pretty close to the ham that she makes, but I made it a little bit simpler by throwing it in my crock pot.
So, raise your hand if you have started Christmas shopping. If you could see me, you would notice that my hand is not raised. I have been slacking a bit.

Brown Sugar & Balsamic Glazed Pork in the Crockpot | Dainty Chef

http://dainty-chef.com/2012/02/brown-sugar-balsamic-glazed-pork-in-the-crockpot.html When I was growing up, I remember hating walking in from school or swim practice and seeing the crockpot on the countertop. For some reason, the meal inside of it never really appealed to me. It always ended up being delicious, and I am not quite sure why I felt that way about it. Now that I have a household of my own, I know exactly why my mom would pull out that crockpot during our busy weeks. Having four kids with many different schedules, it definitely was a chance for her to make us a healthy and delicious meal on those really hectic nights.

I grew up in Yokohama, Japan where one of the main tourist attractions is the biggest Chinatown in Japan. In fact, one of the local specialties in Yokohama that tourists buy as a souvenir is Shumai . Shumai in Japan has mostly pork as the main ingredient compared to the Chinese Shaomai or Siumai which uses both ground pork and chopped shrimp.
