The Glitter Guide Rock Paper Hammer. A Beautiful Mess. Pretty decorative boxes are one of my favorite things to have around the house (usually in little groupings with other candles or figurine type things). A lot of the time though, I love a box or container, but I’m not sure what to actually store in it! It occurred to me that most decorative boxes are actually the perfect size to be a jewelry box, and with a few quick tweaks, they can be really useful around the house as well as pretty! Supplies: -decorative box with lid (I used this one, but this one would be great too.) -1/4 yard velvet fabric (this is a good pink option) -straight pins and sewing machine -hot glue gun or fabric glue –cotton batting–fabric scissors –cutting mat, rotary cutter, and ruler First you’ll want to double over your batting and cut a piece that’s as wide as your box and long enough to make a 1″ thick roll when all rolled up.

If you make them about 1″ wide, then you can know how many you need to make to fill your box (a 5″ wide box would need 5 rolls, etc.). A Bubbly Life. Andreas Notebook. Bugaboo Avenue. Cafe Craftea. I think I have a problem slight addiction to rings. I love rings but hate the rummaging. What I've been using as storage: I got a few new rings today and got supremely annoyed at myself, so I made this pretty lil thang: There have been many tutorials for these awesome ring organizers floating around the web, so I've tried to simplify my steps as much as possible :) Ring Display/Organizer aka Something to Hold Your Bling (and stop it from clumping into a perpetual mess) (Difficulty: Easy) Supplies (1) A bunch of rings (2) A box or box lid (I used half of a Ferrero Rocher container..yum) (3) Cotton or foam cushion padding (4) Scrap fabric, at least twice as long as your padding (5) Scissors (6) Glue (any kind is fine, I used white glue) (7) Ruler Steps 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

My padding was a little too short for my box, but it all worked out because I needed an empty area for my bigger/oddly shaped rings anyway. Let me know if you have any questions or if anything was unclear :) Craft & Creativity. ———–Designed wooden knobs can be quite expensive. So why not style your own for a fraction of the price? I painted mine to match the wall color in my daughters’ newly re-decorated room.

Crafts Unleashed. Are you looking for a fun way to display and organize your earrings? A stylish DIY jewelry holder is just the answer! I’ve been on the hunt for an effective solution to manage the jewelry chaos going on in my jewelry box lately.

While I love my jewelry box, it isn’t the most practical way to store hanging dangly earrings. Usually when I would go to grab a pair they would be tangled around other earrings or I couldn’t find the complete pair. Space is also an issue in my master bedroom. I don’t have room for a larger jewelry armoire so I wanted a fun and pretty space-saving way to display and organize my earrings and this chicken wire window frame worked perfectly. Not only is it functional, but it also makes a pretty addition to the wall. Step One. Step Two. Step Three. I am excited to finally start wearing earrings again now that I can easily find them. This DIY jewelry organizer box is also a great way to keep jewelry stored.

About Marie. Delightfully Noted. Down Home Inspiration. Earnest Home Co. This easy DIY is a scenario where I saw these little white dishes at Target and thought, “blank slate!”. I had no clue what I was going to end up using them for, but they were the perfect size, so I couldn’t pass them up. They’re been sitting on my desk for a few weeks and since I’m a doodler, I whipped out my gold sharpie and started scribbling right on the plates. There is tons of sharpie art out there on the inter webs, but I just loved how easy, but impressive this one ended up. It actually makes me think of this little teapot at C. Wonder – which wasn’t my intention, but ended up being pretty comparable… and all for just $2! If you’re not good at free handing a design, keep on reading to see my easy way to get all those scribbles nicely placed. Start by scribbling one parallelogram in the center of the dish down an imaginary center line.

Then, make the same four parallelograms like a mirror image. Any accident DIY’s in your neck of the woods? Related Glitter + Thanks November 16, 2011. Elli. Today I am going to share a little DIY project that I made for myself last week. I photographed my progress. . . just in case I decided to share. A few years ago, maybe more than a few, I made a jewelry holder from a sleek black frame and black plastic mesh stretched as a canvas inside the frame.

The idea was to use the holes in the mesh to hold my earrings and by adding tiny cup hooks around the four edges of the frame, I had a place to hang my necklaces and bracelets too. It worked great for many years, but honestly, the modern look was not in sync with the style of my new French inspired bedroom. After mulling ideas around for a few weeks, I came up with a plan; I would upcycle a flea market frame by giving it a vintage finish with Annie Slone Chalk Paint (leftover from refinishing the dresser in this photo) and continue the vintage look by using a thick, rough linen fabric for the mesh. I couldn’t find my golden watch yesterday and that is because I don’t have a special place to put them. They are all around my house.

I wanted to solve that problem as soon as possible, so I decided to make a collection of watch holders that will help us to organize our things better. Fynes Designs. The Fynes house is slowly getting back into the swing of things, organizing like most is on top of our list for this month. To be honest is a bit of a daunting job. I think every room has one area that needs major attention. I decided not to overwhelm myself and start small. The bathroom has been taken over by my jewelry, and since Santa gerously brought me 4 new necklaces and a bunch of earrings it was only going to get worse, so a Jewelry Organizer was a must on my to-do list. There are loads of jewelry organizing ideas out there. I wanted to create something that was a bit of all of those ideas combined- not too hard to build, attractive and most importantly easy on the pocket book.

I actually pulled this together with things I had in my workroom from previous projects. How to build a DIY Jewelry Organizer The design for this Jewelry Organizer is quite basic. Using a mitre saw cut the trim board according to the length of your pine board. Can you believe how simple that was?! Grateful Prayer Thankful Heart. Homey Oh My. I was going through my SD card deleting photos from almost two years ago and came across a DIY I never posted.

It was a stone glass vase to use as a planter and something about it wasn’t working for me, where I wasn’t at all excited about it and didn’t even end up keeping it long. Seeing it now though made me think it was a really cool and simple idea but maybe needed a different application, or even to be done on an object of a different shape (I figured it out- I didn’t like the shape of the vase!) Mystery was further solved when these little diamond dishes fell into my Target basket. The idea of turning these into stone felt a lot more transformative even though it’s the same exact process as painting a vase, but to me these are more unique. They also have multiple uses and can be kept in a bunch of different places as catch alls, which is very exciting in my world! Trinkets, office knick knacks, jewelry, it’ll all work and be cute.

About this spray paint though. Homey Oh My. 02/20DIY Projects I was so excited to find these mirrors at the dollar store because hexagons are currently a huge trend in home decor. Then I realized later they’re octagons. Oops. Still cool, though! Originally I had only planned on arranging them on a wall, but after deciding that I wanted them to be near my vanity I thought I should make them functional and turn them into jewelry hangers. It is SO. EASY. All I did was glue on acrylic knobs (THESE are shaped like hexagons) to the mirrors using E6000 Craft Adhesive (affiliate link) and held them in place until the glue set a little bit.

The knobs were love at first sight. This “vanity” is actually a built-in dresser with an awkward ledge attached on the left. Anyone else love decorating with mirrors? I Heart Naptime. Hello! It’s Marie from Blooming Homestead here to share another fun DIY organizing craft with you. I love having my jewelry easily accessible and easy to view. I figured out a system that works perfect for my necklaces but I have been trying to figure out the best way to organize my earrings. I finally came up with this DIY Jewelry Organizer that I am sure you’re going to love! Want to know how I organized my earrings before I made this? An effective jewelry box of course!! You can see my dilemma right? Frame- Mine was a mirror from the thrift storeSpray paint- if you need to paint your frame (or you can paint the metal just sand it down first)Decorative metal sheet- I got mine at Hobby Lobby for $11.99 with 40% off coupon.Monogram Corkboard letter- also from Hobby LobbyMetal snips (I had these already but you can find them at hardware store)RaffiaFabric for decorative backing- I used Burlap (Not shown in picture above…I forgot to set it in the pic!)

First off, prepare frame. I Heart Organizing. I have a mega crush on DIY'ing organizational solutions and storage. I don't know what it is, but I just love coming up with custom creations to our everyday problems. I have always had an interest in high-end and beautiful storage, however, I don't typically have the budget for it. So, I try to recreate organizers in our home for a fraction of the cost as trendy or inspirational pieces. Sometimes I knock it out of the park, sometimes I get it "good enough", sometimes I spend the same or more as buying from the store (but still gain something custom), and sometimes I completely biff it.

The goal is always the same, however. To create something I love, while trying to save a bit-o-change. But if you ask me, the very best part of DIY'ing is that you can customize your project to your specific needs. I am going to admit, Cassie's recent jewelry display post put me over the edge to finally tackle a project that has been on my list for quite some time now.

Moving on.... So darling right? Just Between Friends. I am SO excited about this post because of the way my project turned out. It’s not very often that I sit back and think, “this. is. awesome.” but today is certainly one of those days where I am patting myself on the back a little bit. Now that I’ve talked it up a bit, you probably are wondering what I am talking about. Well, a picture says a thousand words, so let me show you my DIY Jewelry Display! My old earring holder I made and posted on here was just not meeting all of my needs when it came to holding my jewelry, so we broke up. Ha, just kidding, I replaced it. Supplies: 1/4″ MDF board10′ of 1X2 MDF pre-primed trim -OR- you can use a picture frame3 dowels size 3/16X36″1 dowel size 7/16X48″staple guneye screws- also known as screw eyes. Here we go! You will need a piece of 1/4″ MDF that is 19″X24″. I brought all of my supplies home and got to work. While that was drying, I cut my MDF trim to a size that would fit on the MDF board.

Post by Christina of Christina Williams Blog Today I’ve teamed back up with Paper Source to show you a fun DIY Mother’s Day gift craft project! Ring dishes are so handy to have around. I use them in my closet to corral all my loose earrings. And having a custom-made ring dish from my kiddos is such a treat.

There are so many different variations and techniques you can do with this project, and my kids had so much fun with this that we had to go buy more dishes to work on! I’ll show you two quick ways you can customize these ring dishes.
