Batchelors Way: Spray Paint to my Organizing Rescue. Batchelors Way: Laundry Room - DIY Countertop Part 1 - The Fitting. I am so excited today to share my $30 counter top!!!
Let me start by saying I wanted a marble counter top because it would look sooooo good!!! It wasn't a real big area so I went to see what it would cost. For Carrara marble it would have cost $650 and for another light colored marble it was going to cost $530! That was so not the Batchelor Way!! Batchelors Way: Laundry Room - DIY Countertops Part 2 - Faux Painting. I'm back with the actual post about how I faux painted my counter.
Go here to check out the how we got this counter top. Last time I left you with my lovely sample boards. Batchelors Way: Laundry Room Key Box. I love to go to the Parade of Homes each year in the Salt Lake Valley.
I always find inspiration. A few years ago I saw this key box hanging in one of the houses. I really liked the idea of a key box and loved the numbers. Batchelors Way: DIY Built in Ironing Board - Part One. In our last house in Arizona we installed a built in ironing board.
It was a complete kit that came as a unit. You just cut a hole in the wall and slid it in. I loved how it would just fold up into the wall. Fast forward to now. Remember this cabinet we cut down and set into our current laundry room wall? Batchelors Way: DIY Built In Ironing Board - Part Two. I am back with my part two of my novel of how I made my own built in ironing board.
Remember in Part One here, I had a hard time finding a "how to" on the Internet. I was following this guys sketchy instructions. Last time we had finished making the actual board and swivel elements. Look at the photo below to see what it looked like at this point. (OK maybe ignore all the little holes across the bottom and patched ones. Batchelors Way: Update on the Laundry Room. They are doing great!!
I think they look like the day I finished them. I drop clothes on them and fold loads multiple times a week. I also have laid wet/damp clothes on them for long periods and it doesn't effect them. So they are standing up to normal wear and daily use. I can't tell you how they would do in a kitchen as you might have a few scratches, but my counters in my kitchen right now have scratches. Batchelors Way: Pillow Talk. I love pillows but they cost so much and my kids tend to have pillow fights and ruin them!
I'm getting off the the subject, I wanted to share some pillows I recently added to my bed. First I found this soft muted bird print at WALMART! Batchelors Way: Collage Wall and Art Work on a Budget! Artwork can be done inexpensively and still be awesome and meaningful. I knew whatever I put on the walls of our master bedroom would be important as it would be the last thing Les and I saw every night and first thing we would see every morning. I wanted the artwork to make us smile!
Most of you know my children are very talented artists. So what could be better than my boys' art!! Batchelors Way: DIY Master Bedroom on a Budget Reveal. I am finally done!! Here are all the links: Batchelors Way: Rustic Charm Room - Closet Project. The first project I tackled in Ash's room was the closet.
(Just like I did for Emilee.) You know how I feel about a single closet rod! Stupid!!!!! So I ripped it out and made a custom closet. Double hanging and shoe cubbies on one side; long hanging space and basket storage on the other side. Batchelors Way: Rustic Charm Room Reveal - Teenage Girl Room on a Budget!! Finally Ashlee's room is done!! With out further adieu, here it is!! (Warning: Long post with LOTS of photos!!) Batchelors Way: Closet Stencil. Back to our closet redo. No one but Les and I go in our closet, but I wanted to wallpaper one wall in the closet.
