Free Butterflies Crochet Pattern Link Directory. Quick and Easy Butterfly Pattern... This is the first original pattern that I've written up. It's really quick and easy and I intend to use some of these butterflies on a scrapbook layout and on the front of some cards as they are only 4 inches wide using mercerised cotton thread (5 count) and a 2mm hook. Hopefully you folks will like it There are detailed close-up photos posted on my blog (click the links).I have used US stitch names. Mandy The Blue Butterfly You need: Cotton Thread (5 count) in 2 colours2 mm hook Butterfly Body First color. Row 1 8 chain Row 21 ch, 1sc in second chain from the hook, 6hdc, 1sc, cast-off. First Wing (TOP RIGHT) Change to second color. Count down the body to the second stitch on top right of butterfly body and insert hook. Row 19 chain Row 21 ch, 1sc in second ch from hook, 1hdc, 6dc, 1sc, 1ss into body of butterfly, second hdc from top. Turn over the crochet to the wrong side and ss across the body ready for the top left wing.

Second Wing (TOP LEFT) As first wing. Third Wing (BOTTOM RIGHT) Row 2. Crochet Butterfly - very Easy. 3-D Butterfly. Materials: (US) size 7 steel hook, size 10 cotton thread for main color, 6 inch piece of contrasting color size 10 cotton thread for body (or use main color), 2 stitch markers, fabric stiffener (optional) Finished Size: 2.5 inches x 1.5 inches at widest points Special Stitches: Picot: ch 3, sl st in 3rd ch from hook Double Treble (dtr): yo 3 times, insert hook in designated st, yo, draw up loop, (yo, draw through 2 loops on hook) 4 times ch 5, join with sl st in 5th ch from hook to form loop Round 1: ch 3, 2 dc in loop, ch 2, [3 dc in loop (shell made), ch 2] 7 times, join with sl st in top of beg ch 3. (8 shells) Round 2: sl st in each of next 2 sts, sl st into ch sp, ch 3, (2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in same sp, [(3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in next ch sp], 7 times, join with sl st in top of beg ch 3. (16 shells) Finishing: 1. 2. 3. 4.

Nellie's Crochet Butterfly Pattern Design graciously donated by Nellie Siskin Materials: Yarn (anything from worsted weight yarn to crochet thread - We've used worsted weight yarn, sport weight yarn, and crochet thread with wonderful results) Crochet hooks sized to be appropriate with the yarn/thread used Chenille wired stem Directions: Row 1: Ch 13; sl st in first ch to form a foundation ring. Row 2: Ch 3 (this counts as first dc). 2 dc, ch 2 on foundation ring to form first group of 3 dc. *3 dc, ch 2* around the foundation ring until there are 8 set of 3 dc, ch 2. Sl st last ch into top of the original ch 3 to close the circle. Row 3: Sl st across top of first set of 3 dc to first space between sets. Row 4: Scalloped edge - 8 dc in first space. (I like to finish off one thread of yarn by untwisting the thread, splitting it into two sections, looping one section under a nearby loop of the piece, and then tying it into a tight square knot.
