After seven years hiding in dense scrub in northern New South Wales, accused murderer Malcolm Naden has been captured by armed police near the town of Gloucester after a tip off. The Government has announced a $275 million co-investment in Holden, splitting the Opposition between economic rationalists and those who see votes in subsidies. New Foreign Minister Bob Carr discusses relations with Indonesia, China's place in the world, his committment to addressing climate change, the risk of war between Israel and Iran, and his favourite American president. In the United States there is mounting fury over the shooting death of unarmed black teenager Trayvon Martin by a member of a neighbourhood watch group who claims it was in self defence. Sri Lanka has seen greater security since the end of the bloody civil war with the Tamil Tigers, but dissenters are routinely threatened and 32 activists have disappeared in the past six months.

Acting National President of the HSU, Chris Brown, expresses his disappointment at the ACTU suspension of his union and bemoans the time it's taking for action being taken against those being investigated by Fair Work Australia. Graham Nash of Crosby, Stills and Nash fame is showing his creativity extends from moving music to stills photography as shown in an exhibition that coincides with his band's Australian tour.
