I really do like Willem de Kooning's abstract paintings; the colours and shapes used and created really work well together and work well as a whole. I like being able to see the layers in a painting and I feel it shows the commitment and time taken to decide if the piece is finished or not.

I feel that not two pieces of his work are the same, like with most artists, but his seem so individual and different to all the rest. I like this way of drawing and painting as I feel like it's really a way of letting go and believing in what you are doing; you also never really know what the finished piece will look like.
I could look at Kooning's work all day, because you can always notice something new or hidden that you haven't seen before, because of all the shapes and lines used. Willem de Kooning.
