The dispute has caused the city and the county to both get pinged in their annual audits by the State Comptroller's Office because both continue to claim the Hendersonville Library as an asset on their books. The county commission discussed the resolution at its March 16 meeting, but it was deferred for one month by a vote of 16-7. It would have clarified that the Hendersonville Library shall remain in the name of the city of Hendersonville and the city and county shall continue to work jointly to operate the library. County Commissioner Larry Hinton urged commissioners to take no action until they had a written agreement with Hendersonville to get a clear understanding on what each was going to do.
