Watch The Trailer For Luc Besson’s ‘The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec’ The French tomb raider created by Eisner-winning comics writer and artist Jacques Tardi is coming to DVD and Blu-ray in August.
The 2010 French film was wedged in between Besson's involvement with the animated "Arthur" films and was the first live-action feature from the director of "The Professional" in five years following the black and white romantic comedy "Angel A" (he's been producing and writing tons of action films in the interim, but the "Arthur" stuff really seemed to eat up a chunk of the last decade for him). "Adèle Blanc-Sec" sees Besson in full-on special effects extravaganza mode, with all manner of mummies, prosthetic effects, and dinosaurs filling the frame, with a cast featuring Louise Bourgoin in the lead alongside "Quantum of Solace" baddie Mathieu Amalric (he's a terrific actor, don't hold that against him).
