She is the designer of some adorable patterns that I have had the privilege and sewing up (you can see my version HERE) and look forward to more goodness from her. Today she is sharing with us a simple and useful way to put some stylish extra padding on the chair. I love the laminate material she used because it will never get stained or dirty and will not wear out sooner than it should.

Plus, it has a zipper for easy washing. She thought of everything! Take it away Rachael! Hello, Living with Punks readers! I wouldn't say that I have it down to a science or anything, but I can offer some tips that might help you. I don't wash mine very often and usually only if there's a huge spill on it or at the end of a season (I usually change mine with the seasons, don't you?!). I really like having the ability to put mine in the wash and freshen things up! First, I don't usually pre-wash my fabrics. I used to all the time, but then it became overwhelming with piles of washed fabric sitting in the corner waiting to be pressed.

Use a color catcher. They're similar to a dryer sheet, but these you throw in the washing machine with whatever you're washing and it grabs onto any colors that are leaking out into the water. Use a Lingerie bag. Perfume/dye free detergent. Wash on cold. Fancy Felt Soles for Crocheted Slippers. Add fancy felt soles with no-slip grips to your favorite crocheted slippers!

Fancy Felt Soles for Crocheted Slippers

Crocheted slippers are one of my favorite cozy DIY projects. But, since I work out of my home studio, mine always get a whole lot of wear. (That’s great for my toasty toes, but not so awesome for the yarn under my feet.) So to protect my handmade work—and to prevent slips on hardwood and tile—I made a set of custom slipper soles, and now you can too. Popular items for no slip fabric. Fully lined zippered box pouch - pattern and tutorial - it's a Pretty Modern life

I found many tutorials on the internet, but was disappointed after making pouches following these tutorials to find that they were not fully lined; looks so much nicer when you open your pouch and there are no seams. It took me a long time to figure it out and I thought and thought and thought...then I got it♥ I don't want to keep this knowledge to myself, so here it is. I'd like to thank Jane at Projects by Jane (the only other tutorial like this that I was able to find on the internet - wish I'd found it sooner). Her photos may help you out too if mine fail to communicate properly. If you like what you see and this tutorial was helpful, please help me by making a small donation to my site (click mauve button on top right on homepage). ♥♥♥Thanks so much! The finished pouch is 3 high x 4 wide x 7 long (inches) Laptop Sleeve. It’s the Bake, Craft & Sew Along —the sewing edition!
