Sometimes though a well-lit shot and great set up just aren’t enough, sometimes you need to add a little extra. It’s all in the details! When selling on the web, whether it be your online shop, on Etsy or Ebay, try to include as many shots of your handmade product as you can. Buyers like to see as much of the item as they can. You may think that your product is extra soft and cuddly, well try and convey this message to the buyer. Consider what makes your item special. Close-ups are great, but another way of adding interest to your shots is to change the perspective or the angle of your shot. You can frame your photo either vertically or horizontally. Place first two triangles together, knot your thread, bring it up through two pieces about 1/2" from the corner. Stitch together using a blanket stitch, work to the corner and then up toward the top, stopping about 1 1/2" from the bottom. Once you get to the top, add your third triangle and blanket stitch two and three together moving down toward the bottom and around the bottom corner to stitch the bottom closed ~1/2" again. As a child back in Oregon, I used to spend hours hunting for the elusive four-leafed clover with my grandmother. I guess because of that shamrocks are rather special to me. My kitchen needed a little green, so I made this shamrock tea towel using DecoArt’s Ink Effects, which is a fabric transfer ink that you can paint on to plain paper and then iron on to fabric. Fun, huh? Now, Ink Effects is meant to be used on fabric that is less than 30% cotton for a more saturated transfer, but the towels that I used are 100% cotton and gave me this watercolor effect that I love.
