I was born in the Sutherland shire in Sydney, I was raised in a Christian background but never felt any connection, so at the age of 14-15 I found paganism, specifically Wicca. I have two younger brothers, all three of us have taken different paths in our lives, yet some easy similiar and different in other ways. I am hearing impaired and always have been so can you please type louder. I have an amazing partner of three years almost four this coming February who is Christian so makes great for religious debates but at the end of the day we share great respect for each other's path and choices in life. Blessed be

Casting a Circle. The Purposes of a Circle A sacred circle has several purposes, the most significant of which is to define an area where formal ritual work can be performed.
A circle is a place in which the rules and conditions are different to that of the everyday world. A circle is not a barrier, but a doorway to another world. To contain any magickal energy raised and to prevent its dissipation until it has been used up is another purpose of the circle. The sacred circle does not need to be physically represented (drawn or marked on the ground), it just needs to be visualized. HERBS AND THIER MAGICAL USES. Witchcraft, Wiccan and Pagan Index. The Sabbats of Wicca. Learn Wicca / Wicca 101 / Faerie Tradition Because witches honor nature, they have eight festivals, or Sabbats, that mark the year as it turns through its seasons.
The following is basic information about these Sabbats, and includes both standard Wiccan information as well as my personal Sabbat lore and experiences, in other words, what I perceive the Sabbats to be. Samhain happens near Halloween and is when the Wiccan year begins. My altar cloth is black, because we are in the time of year that is dark. On my altar is the harvest, our "dead Lord" whose life is in the crops and "sacrificed" when the crops are killed to become our food. Yule or winter solstice happens near December 21, which is the longest darkest night of the year. Cantrap - Your site for spells, magical technique, magical theory, and divination. Celtic Knot Pumpkins. There are eight elementary knots which form the basis of nearly all the interlaced patterns in Celtic decorative art.
Two of the elementary knots are derived from a three-cord plait, and the remaining six from a four-cord plait. Before the Christian influence on the Celts (about 450 A.D.), the only known Celtic artwork consisted of geometrical patterns such as spirals, key patterns, and step patterns. It has been suggested that the Celts' religion prevented them from depicting the works of the creator, namely animals, plants, and humans. That is why their artwork is restricted to geometrical patterns.
Celtic knots were used to decorate Bible manuscripts, monuments (notably Celtic crosses and cross slabs) and jewelry.
