In all honesty, I’ve had the blogging “blahs”. Not a whole lot of motivation to sit down and post anything. I’ve just been lovin’ on my boys and spending an insane amount of my “free” time just having fun with my little family of four {and some out of town visitors, too!!}. Misc. phonics. A, E, I, O, U Sorts. We've been working through these sorts to distinguish between short and long vowels.

We use a large piece of manila paper to create their own t-chart. Students begin by making a hamburger fold. Then they fold the top down like a puppet. Color the Alligator Letter A. Phonics Faces. PHONIC FACE CARDS.

Phonics Faces

The 44 multicultural faces show the letter-to-sound relationship for 44 sounds of English. The “L” looks like an elevated tongue, the “p” looks like a lip. Children imitate the mouth positions and can begin successfully sounding out words, even those who have poor phonemic awareness. Use Phonic Faces to learn the alphabet, find sounds in word positions, rhyme, blend, spell, learn phonic rules, and as a visual cue to sound production in articulation therapy.
