Carrabba’s Bread Dipping Spices. Hope everyone had a great weekend! I was off of work last Friday so I decided to take advantage and make a romantic dinner to be ready when Adam got home from work (it is VERY rare that I have dinner waiting for him)! We had a great pasta dish, which I’ll be sharing later this week, and I wanted something extra special on the side. Adam & I love Carrabba’s…our favorite thing is their dipping spices for the bread!! So amazing! I do have to admit our romantic dinner was eaten on TV trays watching DVR’d episodes of CSI…our favorite way to spend an evening!

Just thought I'd share 3 things before you get to the recipe you're after:1. I had no idea this recipe would go viral or else I would have cleaned that crock pot and taken the picture in better light.

Jalapeno Popper Dip. Game day! That's right, it has become a huge deal in our home to sit and watch football. It only took my husband 44 years to finally decide that he likes football. I should rephrase that, that he likes to sit and watch football. He is no longer content to read the sports page and sip his coffee. He wants to see every play first hand. I thought I was one of the few wives left on earth that was lucky enough to not have my Sundays and Mondays ruled by a football schedule.

It is a schedule because the NFL has the gall to play more than two teams on any given day…LOL I am saying this all in tongue and cheek because I love football. I have enjoyed having the time to spend with my hubby and with our kids. This dip is popular throughout the web and can be found on numerous blogs, Pinterest accounts and feeds. But we all need a little processed cheese in our lives. And if you snub your nose at that....you're no friend of mine. AAAAND, you're totally missing out.) The 'heat' (spice) can be controlled by what type of salsa you get--we used a medium spicy salsa and it was tempered somewhat by the creamy/mild cheeses.

And it gave just the right amount of heat. 10 ounces frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained1 lb Velveeta cheese (2% fat--this is the reduced fat version)8 ounces cream cheese (light)1 jar salsa (I used 3/4 full jar of a 16 ounce jar)A handful of chopped cilantro (optional-but good) Now there's 3 ways to make this: 1) Cut the Velveeta and cream cheese into cubes and place all ingredients in a microwaveable-safe dish. Serve warm with tortilla chips. White Pizza Dip. This is the story of how four adults ate 28 ounces of cheese. I made this dip on the 4th of July. I took it to a little gathering of peeps. I was early to the party. This is not rare, as my mother scarred me for life and gave me a severe complex about punctuality because I spent most of my pre-pubescent years standing on the street outside of my dance studio, bawling my eyes out (literally) but telling people who walked by that I “had allergies,” waiting for her to pick me up 45 minutes after class ended.

But anyway. It’s not that big of a deal. So. See, the dip was hot. Well… they don’t. Buuuut it was hot. That was lovely. White pizza dip is essentially pizza dip without the tomato sauce. I.freaking.love.it. I don’t freaking love tomato sauce, hence my freaking love of the white pizza dip. Got it. Good. Up until recently the only way I ever made a baked potato was in the microwave.

Sometimes you just can’t argue with quick and easy, right? Well, we started baking them in the oven, brushed with a little olive oil, and I don’t think there is any turning back for me. They are a gazillion times better in the oven. We typically keep it on the easy/healthy/simple side when we make baked potatoes and just top them with some butter, salt and pepper. While it takes a little bit of patience to wait for a baked potato in the oven, this dip definitely satisfies my quick and easy soft spot for microwave baked potatoes. How to Make Proper Queso Dip… (AKA: Velveeta is Not Fit For Human Consumption!) | Celebration Generation: Food, Life, Kitties! I remember the first time I ate “American” cheese. I was visiting the USA, and went to have supper at Perkins. I ordered the exact same salad that I always ordered at home, expecting it to be, well, the same.

When I took my first bite, though… I was horrified. What I thought was shredded cheddar cheese was something… not cheese. I was informed that this was called “American cheese”, and was actually – at least partially – an oil product. It would be a few years before I’d get another shock from eating a “cheese” product. Every summer since, of course, I’ve had to gag at the commercials about making Velveeta / Rotel “queso dip”.

So with my confession, I do have to say that we like to watch the Super Bowl. My husband and I watch it every year and we enjoy it.
