Dartmoor. 4 Days of wilderness and hiking. Heaven! Dartmoor, in Devon is an area that has National Park status. Hill upon hill which in these parts are called Tors. I wanted to start with variety and wow did I get it! The deepest gorge in south west England and so out of the way and wooded that you do not know you are there until you are in it really. It is a 3 mile circular walk but at the half way point you are treated to the spectacular White Lady Waterfall falling 90 feet down. On the return leg you clamber and walk along the rivers edge deep in the gorge. For the afternoon I simply just had to venture onto the moor proper and get a taste of what is to come.
