Dining Published on August 16th, 2011 | by Jules IKEAHacker Materials: One 2×4 EXPEDIT, One VIKA AMON 59″ Table, 6 of 1.5″ L-brackets Description: The goal for this project was originally to create a new computer desk for the apartment using the “Wall of EXPEDIT” hack.

However, after putting the VIKA AMON table on top of the EXPEDIT we figured that the table was just too big for a lonely iMac. Since we have a sunken living room we figured why not just center the table on the EXPEDIT to create a breakfast bar on one side and desk on the other, essentially doubling the usable space. STEPS: 1) Put the 2×4 EXPEDIT together 2) Mark the center line of the VIKA AMON table 3) Center VIKA AMON table on top of EXPEDIT 4) Place 3 L-Brackets on each side and drill pilot holes 5) Screw and secure the 6 L-Brackets. Aren’t they fun? If you can’t choose just one print, how about a poster featuring all of the illustrations from Jen Renninger’s Modern Design Deck? Century Finds is a great online resource for contemporary design and vintage decor, and I’m proud to have them as one of my blog’s sponsors. Sophie, the owner, says, “My love of vintage items started as a child in the ’70s, uncovering discarded housewares in chests and closets all around our home. Later, I spent many happy hours in the flea markets of Paris and London. Visit Century Finds to see what else is in Sophie’s shop this week! (Visited 20 time, 1 visit today)

Karen barlow is a freelance interior designer and still life props stylist based in manchester, england. thirteen years ago she and her husband chris bought this 1879 victorian house. despite not having heat, two gross kitchens, undesirable bathrooms, and the fact that the home had been stripped and converted into two flats in the 1970s, they were able to see the true potential beneath the less than perfect facade. we hope you enjoy this beautiful sneak peek (and fantastic wallpapers) as much as we did!

Yoyomaker - Homemaker homeware for the 21st century. Homemaker homeware is something of a mid-century classic, sold on the high street in the 1950s (most notably, in the now-departed Woolworths), it was cheap and cheerful at the time, but is now sought-after by anyone who wants something period and kitsch for their tea and cake.

If you don't believe us, check eBay for some price estimates. Which makes Yoyomaker all the more appealing. At first glance, you might think it's much the same as the original. But look closely and you'll see that the original's images of period sideboards, spoons and lamps have been replaced by items from the last 30 years - including Nokia mobile phones, iPods, Panton chairs and a Braun food processor.

In fact, half the fun is picking them all out. You can buy the mugs and plates individually or in a set, priced from £15 per piece. Find out more at the YoYo Ceramics website.
