X PRIZE Foundation. Team Phoenicia’s lander/rover combination will piggyback on a communications satellite launch to geosynchronous orbit as a “hosted payload.”

X PRIZE Foundation

From there, the lander will separate from the parent craft and make a burn to insert itself into a transit orbit to a direct landing on the lunar South Pole. The descent will be rocket braked, but will deploy airbags in a manner for final landing. Once the lander has righted, the vehicle will deploy a multi wheeled rover and a large fan shaped placard. The rover will traverse the required 500m while sending back competition specification quality video. Once the first goal is finished, the rover will position to fully spin-up its flywheels. Once the GLXP priorities have been accomplished, the rover will be made available for scientific work on a for-pay basis. Key Team Member Biographies: William Baird – Team Leader. Team Indus is India’s only entry for the Google Lunar XPRIZE. Team Indus’ founding team is eclectic to say the least – it features a former Air Force pilot, a management guru, a branding expert who is also a turnaround honcho, a serial entrepreneur and an aerospace engineer with a passion for space. As disparate they may be on paper, they are all bound by their sheer passion and determination for this project, and by their unshakeable conviction in the Indian Entrepreneurial Spirit. About The leader of Team AngelicvM, Gerardo Rocha Haardt, a former airline pilot in the United Arab Emirates, subscribed to the Foundation XPRIZE Newsletter, which, after his return to Chile to assume as President of Santo Tomas Chile, inspired him to seek out Chileans with expertise in the field of space in order to register the national team as participants in the lunar competition.

Today Team AngelicvM had featured in meetings organized by Google Lunar XPRIZE, with an outstanding participation at the Team Summit in May of 2012 in Washington, D.C., where it won the prize for the most surprising presentation, given the comparative progress with the other teams who had the advantage of several years in competition. Members of Team AngelicvM are invited by NASA and other institutions around the world to expose on their development.

Our mission is to utilize existing technologies in software, microprocessors, communication, guidance and robotic systems to produce small weight vehicle capable of traveling to and transmitting data to/from the moon surface. Delivery of a vehicle to Lunar surface planned by a probe/craft with fixed impulses engines. Main weight target on low-earth orbit for a probe and vehicle total is 100-150 kg. Flight schema will include two orbit correction impulses, one main and one brake impulse with direct arrival to the moon surface and soft landing with air-bags assistance. Designed and manufactured vehicle/craft must pass thermal, mechanical, vacuum’s ground tests prior making launch arrangements. Project. Project, Ideas, Flight, Competition, and Next Steps.

Founded by Mr. Sergio Cabral Cavalcanti, from IdeaValley in the Petropolis City in Rio de Janeiro, born in Natal in the north of Brasil, Mr. Sergio has a real passion for rupture innovation and near impossible challenges. After brainstorming with friends on the beaches of Rio de Janeiro, the group decided to go ahead with the dream to land on the Moon, and after that, several ideas on how to do it on an innovative and uncommon way was born in their minds -- which became SpaceMETA. About Team Puli is a dedicated team of young Hungarian professionals and space enthusiasts, named after the Puli, a dog-breed long used by shepherds for the protection and guidance of livestock in Hungary.

X PRIZE Foundation

Pulis are revered for their extraordinary intelligence, obedience and playful temperament. Pulis’ unique appearance and capabilities easily distinguish them from other dogs, just as Team Puli aims to be different from any other GLXP Team. Through the Google Lunar X Prize, we will show that we can invent and apply new technologies to develop a lunar lander rover which is conceptually novel, and send it to the Moon. We are an innovative engineering team, which, over a longer term, aims to become a prominent player in the growing space industry.

Reciting our Team Leader's quote, we like to think of Team Puli as the smallest prince, an emblematic figure of Hungarian folk tales, who continuously embarks on impossible missions to prove his right to the throne. Welcome to Team Puli Space! Puli Space Technologies. Puli Space Technologies (named after the puli, a small Hungarian dog breed) is a Hungarian company established by individuals in June 2010 in order to take part in Google Lunar X Prize Challenge and other competitions, and further to facilitate development of space industry in Hungary, to promote scientific thinking and encourage students to choose scientific careers.[1] Google Lunar X Prize[edit] Official button of Team Puli.

Our minimal risk approach utilizes our team members’ experience in flight proven heritage hardware and our integrated Falcon 9 rideshare system. In an effort to share the burden of robotic space exploration architecture development, we strive to maintain a diversified portfolio of team members. We began with the development of a proof-of-concept system architecture utilizing commercial, private, and government funding to validate our technical and business approach, ultimately becoming self-sustaining as a viable space exploration enterprise.

These investments come in the form of prizes, contracts, team members, and sponsorships, and through private investments. The Rocket City Space Pioneers’ rideshare arrangement is brokered by our team member, Spaceflight Services. Rocket City Space Pioneers. Rocket City Space Pioneers. The The Rocket City Space Pioneers (RCSP) was one of 29 teams from 17 different countries[1][full citation needed] officially registered and in the competition for the Google Lunar X PRIZE (GLXP) during 2010–2012. The RCSP was drawn from Alabama businesses, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations. It announced entry into the competition on 7 September 2010[2] and departed from the competition after the team was acquired by Moon Express in December 2012. History[edit] X PRIZE Foundation. We are a team that spans generations.

Our membership includes both the wisdom of the “space age” and the imagination of youth. One of the team’s primary goals is to inspire the youth of today to study science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) by engaging them in another “Race to the Moon”. Barcelona Moon Team. BARCELONA MOON TEAM. Barcelona Moon Team. Barcelona Moon Team is a Spanish team led by Galactic Suite Design, which is participating in the Google Lunar X Prize.

History[edit] Galactic Suite Design (GSD) is the lead company in a consortium of companies fielding the Barcelona Moon Team in the Google Lunar X Prize (GLXP) competition.[1] GSD does so through a filial company, Galactic Suite Moon Race. BMT is the official candidate to the GLXP.[2] The team is a multidisciplinary joint venture bringing together Spanish entrepreneurial, industrial and academic capabilities. The team also includes the Centre of Aerospace Technology in Barcelona (CTAE), the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) or the international engineering advisory firm Altran.[3] BMT wants to promote a widening involvement of private initiative in the development of space technology and industry, also including sectors such as exploration and tourism.[2] Launch[edit] References[edit] External links[edit] Official Site.

X PRIZE Foundation. The birth of the c-base Open Moon group took place at the c-base, a well known hacker-space in the former east side of Berlin, not far away from the place, where a certain Wernher von Braun and his colleagues made their first rocket experiments. It always has been a collecting point for all kind of technologically fascinated and versatile people, like computer specialists with a soft spot for science fiction or hardware hackers who loved to solder their antennas themselves.

Nevertheless, shortly after the announcement of Neven Dološ at a regular meeting of the c-base board to take part in the GLXP, quite a lot of 'aliens', like non-members are called by c-base members, joined the team, so that we have now a quite good mixture between c-base locals and external experts. The actual team consists of men and (a few) women from all professional areas, like physics, business consulting, web-development, aerospace engineering and so on.
