All photographs were taken by Hidenori Watanave + Students @ Tokyo Metropolitan University and Atelier Ten Architects (winner of Digital Design Competition 2007). We are also producing "reconstructing" and "3D visual database" of Kisho Kurokawa in Second Life. Moreover, workshop by Tokyo Metropolitan University + Miyagi University is planned in same SIM. Details will be open to the public in a few days. Virtual World Plans Expansion Based On Real-Life Cities. Virtual World Plans Expansion Based On Real-Life Cities

Doppelganger Studios is developing a set of virtual worlds based on real city locations to increase the size of its online, teen-oriented virtual world, called The Music Lounge. Tentatively planned for release beginning in August, the new areas borrow architecture and urban planning from Harajuku and Shinjuku in Tokyo, the 7th Arrondissement in Paris, New York, and Milan, as well as planned communities like Seaside, Fla. "We wanted to base it on a real world city because that's the environment the average user is familiar with," said Andrew Littlefield, the company's chief creative officer and founder.

"And it gave us an opportunity to insert advertisements. " Advertisements clash with fantasy environments like the World of Warcraft, explained Littlefield. But Littlefield believes a light touch is necessary. Not to mention advertising. More Insights. Real Virtual. FScape Readme. FScape Readme

It leads like a red thread throughout my musical work, by conceiving sound as a 'clay', a flexible, sculptural mass. Originally it started as an extension to Tom Erbe's SoundHack, providing 'spectral operators'. Today FScape consists of around fifty independent modules for rendering audio files. From simple utilities such as separating channels, normalising, cutting and splicing sounds, through various DSP and filtering algorithms to more complex algorithmic units which take a sound, analyse it, and rearrange it in new forms.

Here are some reactions: "Can be used to manipulate audio into weird and wonderful sounds. A peculiarity is the fact that all modules operate in non real-time. Although many modules have close relationships with particular pieces I wrote, they nevertheless form a universal toolkit for any work on concrete sounds. Introduction. Online Worlds Lab. [Up- imhofaq] [Robot Wisdom home page] Jorn Barger December 2002 (updated Mar2003) [I've had to break this up into four subpages so far, linked below.] "In most cases, the model is a partial representation of the system, and the quality of its representation is determined by comparing its behavior with that of the real system. " --Evans et al, Simulation Using Digital Computers 1967 "Everything that rises must converge.

" "She's got the right dynamic for the New Frontier. " The evolution of computer science can be viewed as an evolution of data-representations towards ever-greater comprehensiveness and 'quality'. In general, representations in each area of knowledge will be expected to follow an approximate progression from pre-verbal intuitions to nonverbal images to words and symbols to sorted symbols to counting and measurement to algorithmic relationships to fullscale simulations.
