Sassytrash: January 2011
It seems like months since I managed some backroads therapy......and with temps hitting almost 70 and the sun shining bright (and the need for fresh merchandise) there was no way to resist, so I headed southwest through Georgia and down to Montgomery. (Pictured above is the beautiful Meriwether County Courthouse tower in Greenville, GA) We did some good pickin' around Montgomery and headed north on Hgwy. 231 and found this cool place.you knew i was going to make one.
they are all over pinterest.... (i still am not signed up for pinterest because i don't have time for one more thing but browsing is fun!) so we made one. i took a box of 64 crayons and took out the blacks and browns. i used another small box and doubled up on the good colors i liked and hot glued them to the top of our canvas.D.I.Y

We rode bikes around our neighborhood this weekend and stopped at all the garage sales we found along the way. I love doing this because it's like exercise and shopping in one! Plus, my bike basket is perfect for holding whatever treasures I find. On this particular trip I was noticing a lot of old books for sale. My DIY craving kicked in and I knew I had to do some research on the projects I could use old books for.Japanese Kusudama , this tutorial is featured on Craftuts Anyone can do that, I assure you. The proof: I can, just take a quick look at my result below. And, believe me, I am neither meticulous nor particularly patient. You could even say I’m the opposite. Below you can see my very first attempt to create paper flowers.

Satin Flower Headbands Remember this post about the pettiskirt? Well, many of you asked about the headband……. I have posted about the satin flowers before…….hmmmm, maybe a year or so ago, but didn’t give a step-by-step and didn’t show it on a headband. But these little satin flowers really are a fun little thing to put on anything. Clothing, bags, headbands, etc.

Looking for a way to fill that blank wall but don't have permission to paint? All you need is a trip to a major hardware store and an afternoon in front of a good movie to take care of that little dilemma. Supplies Needed: Large frame with paper insert, a ton of pretty paint chips, double-sided tape squares, and vinyl letters appropriate to the size of your frame or phrase (4" - 6"). I went with a color scheme that involved a variety of tones from some of my favorite colors. It's basically a muted rainbow with plenty of lighter shades to keep things from getting too busy.
