Creme Brulee Cupcakes. Can you ever have too many cupcake recipes? Never! Here’s one that I’m so excited I’ve gotten around to trying. I finally bought a kitchen torch about a year ago but I can’t believe I haven’t posted any creme brûléed desserts yet. I love creme brûlée and the way its sugar coating nearly instantly caramelizes thanks to those ingenious kitchen torches. I almost feel magic :) as I watch the sugar melt into tiny round beads, then spread and rapidly change from a soft white to various vibrant colors.

If you are like me and love French pastries then you’ll adore these cupcakes. Ingredients Pastry Cream 1 cup heavy cream 2/3 cup milk 1/2 cup granulated sugar, divided 1/8 tsp salt 1/2 vanilla bean 4 large egg yolks 3 Tbsp cornstarch 1 Tbsp unsalted butter Cupcake Topping Granulated sugar, about 1/3 cup Whipped cream (optional) 12 fresh raspberries (optional) Directions. My grandkids and I decided we would try making the "Famous" Mountain Dew Jelly. This is not the type of jelly I usually do, but thought it would be fun and a way to spend some time with my grand children, Tucker and Taylor.

This recipe will yield 6 half pint jars of jelly Ingredients: 3 1/2 cups of mountain dew 2 tbsp lemon juice 4 1/2 cups of sugar 1 box regular pectin 1 pat of butter Measure your sugar in a bowl and set aside. Combine mountain dew and lemon juice in a 6 to 8 quart stainless steele pot. Add pat of butter and the pectin/sugar mixture to the pot and bring back to a boil that can't be stirred down. Add your sugar all at once.

Remove from heat and skim foam if needed. Ladle jelly into hot, steralized jars leaving 1/4 inch headspace. Wipe the rims of the jars with a clean paper towel dipped in vinegar to ensure a good seal. Put on lids and rings. Place in boiling water bath and process for 10 minutes. Place on counter to cool for 24 hours. Label and Store in a cool, dark place. Apple Butter Recipe in Slow Cooker. It took me an embarrassingly long time to realize that apple butter was, in fact, not a variation of butter. While butter it was not, I found it was still utterly fantastic slathered on a piece of toast, or on top of brie and a cracker. Apple butter has become one of my favorite things to stock up on during the fall season when it’s plentiful at farmer’s markets, orchards and local grocery stores.

I’ve had friends tell stories about churning apple butter at fall festivals, which has always made apple butter seem like an utterly daunting task. It wasn’t until recently that I discovered how incredibly easy it could be, and I wasted no time making a batch once apple season was in full swing. There are a couple of different methods you can use to make apple butter. I currently have a jar in the refrigerator, a jar in the freezer for a brie appetizer on Thanksgiving, and a handful more jars earmarked for family and friends to enjoy. Homemade Applesauce. Homemade applesauce is one of those things that makes you wonder, after you whip up a batch, why more folks don’t make it. It truly is one of the easiest and most delicious treats-snacks-condiments-ingredients you can make from scratch, and it doesn’t take much time at all.

And, most importantly, it makes you a more contented, well-rounded individual with shinier hair, a slimmer waist, a sharper mind, and a more pleasant disposition. Okay, so not necessarily on those last few items. But it is really easy to make! And oh, the things you can do with homemade applesauce. Here’s just a slight smattering. * Make silver dollar applesauce pancakes.

Homemade applesauce for president! You need to start by peeling a bunch of apples. You do that too, right? Great. Core the apples, too… Then slice them into 8-slices each. You basically need all the apple flesh you can get! Oh, and on that note: You can use whatever apples you want. Throw them in a pot big enough to hold them… Next, add a little cinnamon. I’m well aware that this isn’t necessarily the stuff of “polite conversations”…but I feel like I would be remiss if I didn’t share the “real life” stuff with all of you, as well as the “good stuff”. Actually, if you think about it, getting a colonoscopy IS good stuff if you’re doing it because colon cancer runs in your family and as a result of the procedure you were given a clean bill of health!

:-) That’s a VERY good thing in my book. Anyway…I’m getting a little off track. Perhaps I’m stalling because the thing I want to talk about is ummm….errrrr…..rather delicate. Prepping for a colonoscopy is AWFUL! So….this “cleansing” that must take place is hard on one’s system…not to mention one’s posterior. So I made up some of my own “Tucks” to use during this uncomfortable time and I am happy to report they were a little slice of heaven on earth. Cold Sores. I don’t know if I have said it before but flan is one of my favorite desserts. In Spain, ever since I was a little girl this is what I used to have as a treat, so making this cheesecake flan takes me way back. This time around I figured I’d make the flan but with a twist, with cream cheese in the flan, which I have seen before, called cheesecake flan. This is a must try recipe. If you have never made a dessert in a water bath don’t be discouraged, it is just not that big of a deal.

I don’t know who it is that told me once that gluten-free goodies always taste bad.

Not these cookies, and for sure not any of the gluten-free goodies I have posted in my blog so far. If it is not good, I just simply do not post it. Now, for these gluten-free chocolate cookies I used chocolate chunks but I am sure you could also use chocolate chips. I also bake a lot with coconut flour, but this flour is more for spongy cakes and muffins than for cookies.
