4 Needle Sock Pattern Generator

This is a printer-friendly pattern generator for plain socks, knitted "top down", on four double-pointed needles. First, knit a 4inch by 4inch piece in stocking stitch using your chosen yarn and the needles you will be using to knit your socks. Use this piece to calculate your stitch gauge (stitches per inch). Next, measure and record the ankle circumference (in inches) just above the ankle bone.

Clothesline Knitting or Filled I-cord - KNITTING

Recently I thought about how to make low-priced purse handles. I wanted to make them from the same yarn that I will use for my purse but I didn’t want to have a simple I-cord because I’m always knitting very loose and the cord gets much to flexible for a purse handle. Then I thought about 'Clothesline Crochet' (see my blog entry) and thought that this must be possible with knitting, too. http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=314187.0#axzz2P6Krwq1c

Knitting | Anjie's Blog

Submitted by Anjie Davison on Wed, 10/21/2009 - 17:22. Utilising the tube property of i-cord I thought I would cover a hair band with it. I used hair bands made of metal, you could use plastic but metal is more durable. On two dpns size 2.25 mm (size 13 UK, size 1 US) and Double Knitting yarn cast on four stitches, leaving a 15 cm (6") length of yarn at the beggining. Knit a length of i-cord long enough to cover the hair band. http://www.pompomemporium.com/category/popular-keywords/knitting?page=1
