Behold, the Rubik’s Companion Cube! I know the cube loves me because, no matter how I turn it, it’s always solved. (If you’re completely confused now, you should read my dissection of the game Portal or listen to me rave about it on a podcast .) (Also, if you don’t care about how to make a custom Rubik’s cube, you should skip to more pics of the Rubik’s Companion Cube .) Anyway, here’s how you can make your own custom Rubik’s cube.

How to Tie Dye with Sharpie Markers!

I recently saw this idea on Pinterest and thought I'd like to try it my self. So I went to the Sharpie blog to get the details and just went with it. Here is the original link. To get started you'll need the following: Plain white T-shirts, undershirts are great since thinner material seems to work best. Fresh brightly colored sharpies Rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol. 70-90% (I used 90%) Eye dropper Plastic dish Disposable plastic drink cups Rubber bands Access to a dryer A piece of cracker box or such, cut to the shape and size of a quarter.

His huge rectangular head contains enough wiring for him to remember how everything works and how it can be fixed when it's broken. And he's willing to help, whatever the problem. His chocolate-mint color combination is set off by little metal details, although most hail from the haberdashery counter rather than the hardware store.
