Midkemia Wiki - a wiki dedicated to Raymond E. Feist's Riftwar Cycle. Kulgan - Midkemia Wiki. Kulgan Kulgan sporting his pipe. Kulgan sported a beard and an ever-present pipe. He was thought to be overweight, but with cat-like reflexes that definitely did not suit his looks, but often gave him an edge when fighting an enemy. Bio Edit Kulgan lived with his pet Fantus and franklin Meecham in a stone cottage located in a clearing in a forest outside Crydee Castle.

Kulgan had visited the Ishapian library at their temple in Krondor and browsed the shelves at the Abbey of Sarth, which was ten times as large. History Pre-Riftwar Edit He had friendship with Althafain of Carse and with a magical orb he gave him, Kulgan discovered young Pug during a storm. He was friends with an Ishapian abbot, who once gave him a book. Kulgan picked Pug for apprentice at his day of Choosing and started to train him as a magician in his tower in the Castle, however something stopped him from assessing his full potential. Kulgan aided Duke Borric on his travels to warn nobles of the coming Tsurani invasion. Riftwar. Midkemia Press. Welcome to Elvandar.com, Atlas to the Worlds of Raymond E. Feist and Midkemian Gazetteer. Mara of the Acoma. If you have ever read the writings of Raymond Feist or Janny Wurts, you may have noticed that his characters seem flat and her novels are overloaded with detail. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that The Daughter of the Empire is a superb fantasy novel, possibly the best I have read.

The Empire Series is a collaborative effort by Feist and Wurts set on the other side of Feist's "Rift". Although independently both of these writers tend to be dull, together they have created a rich world, with sweeping landscapes, cunning political machinations, and the absolute best character I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Mara is the strongest woman you will ever encounter, and could easily subdue any Aes Sedai including the Amyrlin herself--if channeling was not allowed *g* (for you Wheel of Time fans). I am deeply saddened that there will never be another Kelewan book, or so Feist himself says in his official FAQ *sigh*. Mara is not the only important character in the series.
