New York, USA - Former World 100m record holder Asafa Powell will make his New York indoor track debut at the 2012 U.S. Open Track & Field on 28 January at Madison Square Garden, the first of the six-meeting 2012 IAAF Indoor Permit Meeting series. Returning to the site of her 2011 NYC indoor victory, world and Olympic champion Veronica Campbell-Brown will join her Jamaican countryman in the short sprints, while two of the most popular Garden high school track events – the Catholic High School Athletic Association boys’ 4x800m and girls’ 4x400m relays – also will be contested.

UKA Farah Set for Kelvin Hall

Farah, who alongside 400m hurdles World Champion Dai Greene is shortlisted for Thursday’s BBC Sports Personality of the Year, will headline the Aviva International Match in its final year at Kelvin Hall on Saturday 28 January, aiming to make it the first step in his 2012 journey towards London Olympic gold. And in continuing the theme of rousing send-offs, the event will also be the last time the Aviva GB & NI Team competes on home soil ahead of the 2012 Olympic Games.

The double World Championships medallist will no doubt send Glasgow fans away from the venue for the final time with stunning memories of the annual global athletics event.
