COINTELPRO (an acronym for Co unter Intel ligence Pro gram) was a series of covert , and at times illegal, [ 1 ] projects conducted by the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) aimed at surveying, infiltrating, discrediting, and disrupting domestic political organizations . The FBI has used covert operations against domestic political groups since its inception; however, covert operations under the official COINTELPRO label took place between 1956 and 1971. [ 2 ] COINTELPRO tactics have been alleged to include discrediting targets through psychological warfare; smearing individuals and groups using forged documents and by planting false reports in the media; harassment; wrongful imprisonment; and illegal violence, including assassination . [ 3 ] [ 4 ] [ 5 ] The FBI's stated motivation was "protecting national security , preventing violence, and maintaining the existing social and political order." [ 6 ]
COINTELPRO
Érik Truffaz ( Chêne-Bougeries , 3 April 1960) is a Swiss -born French -nationality jazz trumpeter , infusing elements of hip hop , rock and roll and dance music into his compositions. He signed with the French EMI label in 1996. [ 1 ] Truffaz gained international attention with his second album on Blue Note , The Dawn , produced together with Pat Muller , Marcello Giuliani and Mark Erbetta . Since then they have produced many Blue Note albums together such as Bending New Corners , which became a Silver Album in France. The 2007 release Arkhangelsk is a mixture of pop songs, French chanson , and jazz-groove .
