DIY Hex Nut Wrap Bracelet | henry happened. Craftgawker. Tutorial : DIY T-Shirt Pom Poms. Starfish Necklaces. I <3 LA pillow. Okay, Okay, so this is my new pillow shop. But I am really excited about it and wanted to share it here first. I started my new pillow venture somewhat accidentally - I made a couple pillow covers for myself and I was instantly hooked! It was supremely satisfying to make something that really added splash of style to my home. I realized I could only make so many pillows for myself and decided to open a new etsy shop, so I could keep on making more. What I love about making pillows, which almost sounds silly if you knew exactly how much I really love making pillows, is pillows are meant to be used, they are comforting while also giving your space new pizazz and style. I also love that I can use a blank piece of fabric and adorn it in such a wide variety of styles and aesthetics, using many different mediums.

Most favorited all-time. Craftster.org. Mario Room Projects. Okay, heres some of the things Ive got done today, and Im gonna put pictures of the quilt Im working on here too. I figure this can just be an all-in-one thread Ill update for progress on the mario room. First I did another bob-omb lamp, but its for my friends son. His birthday is tomorrow and he loves mario so Im sure hell freak out about it. Did it the same way as the last one, added the wood feet this time. I went back and added them to the one for the room too. I found this lamp at a thrift store also, its not the perfect round shape Id prefer to have but it still works. I couldnt find any that were perfectly round today and it was a last minute project that had to be done by tomorrow... Then my son helped me start a paper mache project. This is the lamp base Im using for the piranha lamp. Ill post pics when its done of course Finally I found this star and flower wood decorations at hobby lobby, the star was like 50 cents and the flower was 75 cents.

But I still have a ways to go. String lamp. Our living room sadly lacks overhead lighting, so we bought a HEMMA cord from Ikea and stapled it up. Then we had a compact fluorescent hanging from the middle of the room. How charming! So, I made a string globe for it, and it's quite a bit more charming now, I hope. I didn't take any pictures of the process, but I'll describe it. You'll need:- a mylar balloon- some tape- vasoline- glue (I used Aleene's tacky glue, Elmers would also be fine)- string/rope/yarn of choice (I used jute from the hardware store)- a knife or scissors- cord kit of choice (I use HEMMA from Ikea, $3.99) Directions:1.

CraftyBitch. Felting. I've been digging around on the internet, working my way feverishly through blogs and forums to find inspiration for my Reconstructed Clothing Challenge, and I must say, I have found some pretty great things!

Here are some of the awesome projects I've seen: Men's dress shirt becomes women's casual shirt! I found this adorable reconstructed shirt at this blog called Random Blogging. She took one of her husband's old plaid dress shirts and turned it into a casual shirt for herself! First she cut off the sleeves, then she tailored the body of the shirt.

She shortened the sleeves and sewed them on so that the cuffs opened to the front. Very Cute! There isn't really a tutorial there, though I imagine anyone with any sort of sewing skills ought to be able to figure it out. How to felt a sweater! This Threadbanger tutorial (I looooove Threadbanger!) Too big? Another of my greatest sources of inspiration is ReadyMade Magazine. Would anyone else like to join me in this challenge? FreeNeedle. Design*Sponge. Felt craspedia. There was a time — and maybe we’re still in it — when almost every stylish home contained a vase of craspedia, also known as “Billy Balls,” “Billy Buttons,” and a few other terms I’m not aware of. And why not? Craspedia are a very cool-looking flower, after all; definitely a great choice for mid-century modern fans, with those long, skinny stems and graphic yellow balls.

I have a bunch of them in my home as well, and I do love them. However, I don’t like that the dried ones lose their vivid color and the fresh ones don’t keep long. Enter this super simple felt version by Tanya of Dans le Townhouse: an almost perfect substitute for the real flower. Each one takes only a couple minutes, and then you get to enjoy them in all their bright yellow Billy-Ball-glory forever! Read the full how-to after the jump!
