He does it by putting some colorful pigments on the speaker which is covered with a thin foil. Then, when the sound goes through the speaker, it triggers some movements and the vibrating speaker makes the colors shout in the air.

The artist’s job is to capture these moments so that we all could admire the dancing colors. In all, the show features 50 artists and a dozen installations made just for the show, including Andreas Kocks's Paperwork #701G (in the Beginning), seen above. The 1940s Victory Roll hairstyle is often said to acquire its name from the fighter plane maneuvers of World War II. The planes created an exhaust roll that remained in the sky after leaving the area and inspired many patriotic civilians to adopt the the name in honour of the soldiers returning home. The name has also been linked to the “V” shape the rolls can sometimes mimic when styled in a particular, upright way. My love of the ornate hairstyles of the 1940s emerged at a very young age. I’ve always idolized the women of yesteryear and their ability to remain glamorous even in times of war and great economic distress. With the onset of World War II, many every day items like food, fabric, and metal were put towards the war effort and rationed, which eventually led to a shortage of styling necessities such as bobby pins.

This lack of resources forced women to become creative and caused pipe cleaners to be used as an alternative to achieve the victory roll style. The Chemical Brothers - The Salmon Dance. Mystery Build Art Contest 2013. This is What Happens When You Give Thousands of Stickers to Thousands of Kids. This December, in a surprisingly simple yet ridiculously amazing installation for the Queensland Gallery of Modern Ar, artist Yayoi Kusama constructed a large domestic environment, painting every wall, chair, table, piano, and household decoration a brilliant white, effectively serving as a giant white canvas.

Over the course of two weeks, the museum’s smallest visitors were given thousands upon thousands of colored dot stickers and were invited to collaborate in the transformation of the space, turning the house into a vibrantly mottled explosion of color. How great is this? Given the opportunity my son could probably cover the entire piano alone in about fifteen minutes. The installation, entitled The Obliteration Room, is part of Kusama’s Look Now, See Forever exhibition that runs through March 12.
