Microsoft then said it had spent over a year customizing XP to make it run on the XO and that it can support a wide range of the laptop's capabilities, including the dual-mode screen, camera, writing pad, and WiFi. The company has recently finalized the version of XP that will become available on the XO, according to James Utzschneider, the GM of Marketing and Communications for the Unlimited Potential group at Microsoft:
