Bears. Girls II. Monsters. Creepy yet adorable fantasy dolls by Santani. Made by a 23-year-old artist from Moscow, these colourful creatures look like they could be the cuter cousins of the gremlins in Speilberg’s 1984 movies of the same name. Whether you think they’re cute or creepy, these little gremlins have been selling like hot cakes. Santani, which is the girl’s nickname on deviantart and vkontakte, uses doll plastics like fimo clay, cernit, sculpey and sonet combined with fabric fur to create these detailed fantasy animal dolls. She started sculpting the dolls and putting them on the Internet seven years ago. Santani‘s style has changed a lot since then and her initially monstrous and scary sculptures evolved into less frightening and more beautiful dolls. The majority of her soft-bodied framed dolls fall into categories like Inari Foxes, Tiny Griffins and My Little Dragon.

Japanese artist Riusuke Fukahori paints three-dimensional goldfish using a complex process of poured resin. The fish are painted meticulously, layer by layer, the sandwiched slices revealing slightly more about each creature, similar to the function of a 3D printer. I really enjoy the rich depth of the pieces and the optical illusion aspect, it’s such an odd process that results in something that’s both a painting and sculptural. Wonderful. Skulls. Flowers. Buddha's Manifestation of Joyfulness. Zhang Daqian's mother taught him to paint flowers when he was a child. At the age of nineteen he left his native Sichuan Province and went to Kyoto to study textile weaving and dyeing. When he returned to China in 1919, he lived in Shanghai and Suzhou, where he immersed himself in the study of traditional painting.

Between 1940 and 1943 he studied, catalogued, and made copies of the brilliantly colored wall paintings of the Buddhist cave temples, mostly fifth to tenth century, in the western oasis of Dunhuang. This painting epitomizes Zhang's ability to synthesize diverse stylistic sources. The bold ink-wash lotus leaves reveal his early fascination with the expressive style of Bada Shanren (1626–1705); the descriptive treatment of the blossoms and water plants reflects his mastery of academic bird-and-flower painting; the vivid palette and ink washes suffused with blurry highlights of red and green reveal his familiarity with the Japanese artists of the Nihonga school.

With extreme sports it is the danger and challenge that tends to excite people. Often the most amazing and bizarre images are taken right at the moment when disaster strikes. Spider Goat, Spider Goat ... We present the Alpine ibex, seen here casually scaling the Cingino Dam in Italy and openly defying all laws of physics. The only thing these goats give less of a shit about than gravity are the fences you build to try to keep them in. High Speed Photography : Frozen in Time. In a blink of the eye, a lot can happen. A lot of astonishing things happen in a split of a second, but they are moving too quickly for us to see. High speed photography is the art of photographing a rapidly occurring event. Depending on the event to be photographed, methods range from use of ultra-short time flash exposures to producing lots of exposures in a split-second. Seemingly frozen in time, a lot of photographers have their own special method doing high speed photography. It’s not easy to come up with a perfect shot while capturing rapidly occurring event, photographers that specialize in this type of photography are masters of patience.

For example, sending a fax, writing in cursive (with a pen) and talking on any phone with a cord (and twirling it around my fingers) are all things that kids born in 2011 might never have the opportunity to experience.

I remember back in the days when people would say, “I wish I had my camera with me today, I could have taken some great pictures.” Now that practically everyone has a smartphone, we all have our cameras with us everywhere we go. That is evident in these photographs taken at exactly the right moment. The photography we see these days is phenomenal. People everywhere are taking fabulous shots and sharing them with the world on social media sites. There is one aspect of photography though that is still very intriguing to me because it is somewhat rare. Evolution GIF. Young Artist Takes Surreal Self-Portraits to Express Emotions. The mind can create all kinds of strange scenarios when we are asleep. In this series entitled Surreal-ity, photographer Kylie Woon brings those mind-bending stories and dreamy scenes to life. Conveying all kinds of dramatic emotions, including loss, fear, anger, and restlessness, Woon creates self-portraits where she floats, flips, and flies across each frame in seemingly impossible arrangements.

The artist says her life has always flip-flopped between being obsessed with the small things in life versus being able to see the bigger, grander picture. She compares her experiences to photography and the idea of being zoomed in and zoomed out. She says, "When I am zoomed in, everything in the universe is dark except for the inside of my head. I feel my feelings with painful clarity, and I am obsessed," but on a brighter side, she says, "When I am zoomed out, I am floating in space somewhere, looking down on earth which is the size of a glass marble. Chiwa – Mchinji, Malawi Shot over a period of 18 months, Italian photographer Gabriele Galimberti‘s project Toy Stories compiles photos of children from around the world with their prized possesions—their toys. Galimberti explores the universality of being a kid amidst the diversity of the countless corners of the world, saying, “at their age, they are pretty all much the same; they just want to play.” But it’s how they play that seemed to differ from country to country. Galimberti found that children in richer countries were more possessive with their toys and that it took time before they allowed him to play with them (which is what he would do pre-shoot before arranging the toys), whereas in poorer countries he found it much easier to quickly interact, even if there were just two or three toys between them.

There were similarites too, especially in the functional and protective powers the toys represented for their proud owners.
