Halifax band Cousins pay tribute to the bounty of the "Ocean" in new video. Hailing from Halifax, Cousins would know about the ocean. It's blue, great for love metaphors, and everything we have came from it: surfing, skateboarding, martial arts, babes, ancient bird gods, cowboys, etc.

The video for "Ocean" — one of two sea-themed songs from the rock band's new album The Halls Of Wickwire — is a cut-and-paste history lesson, tapped from an assortment of classic clips. The next time you see a fish, just remember: they're the original boogie boarders. Cousins' new album The Halls Of Wickwire is out now via Hand Drawn Dracula.
Watch this video on YouTube Waxahatchee: A Lonesome Voice, Raised In Basements. "I kind of came to everyone and was like, 'Guys. What if we call it ... Blue. Katie Crutchfield's eyes light up as she says this last word, but her smile turns sheepish as she recounts what her bandmates, on hearing the pitch, gently reminded her: There's already a very famous album by that name. "I was like, 'Oh yeah,' " says the 24-year-old songwriter, laughing and noting she's a fan of the Joni Mitchell classic.

We're sitting on the back porch of Katie's home, a three-story row house in west Philadelphia. "We hit this point when we were, like, 14, where we kind of didn't hang out with anyone else," Allison says. The twins started their first rock band, The Ackleys, in high school. Was your internet down? It's fine, you don't have to explain anything. ScHoolboy Q, “Man Of THe Year” “Its new age-y drone is the slow motion descent of empty blunt wrappers and full dimebags, and enables Q to note on his triumph more than once amongst his rascally verses about stealing your girl and blowing a cheque in two days.” Eating Out, “Come Around” “The riffing gives the meek vocals, which sound like they've barely escaped Daniel Pitout's throat, some muscle, and evoke grunge's poppier incarnations (think the soundtrack for the opening shot of the high school in a Freddie Prinze, Jr. movie).”

Jaakko Eino Kalevi, “When You Walk Through Them All” “Fortifying stuff that massages your frail ego with an airy atmosphere that photosynthesizes sex.” Jamie xx, “Untitled” Tame Impala, “Be Above It” (Erol Alkan remix) “From the jump the titular mantra is streaked with futility. PREMIERE: DAS RAD's "Vacuum" video gives April snow one last hurrah (sludge, too) Following the annual mid-April snow day (and subsequent freakout), Toronto's weather finally seems to be settling down for the spring.

We're giving winter one last hurrah with the premiere of DAS RAD's "Vacuum. " Directed by Dean Tzenos of Odonis Odonis (who's almost as passionate about B-movies as he is about industrial music), the video plots the members of the Toronto sludge-pop band in the middle of a snow-covered forest. And when you look into the vacuum of their eyes, you just know something's about to go down. Something about those mutton chops...
