The challenge is being hosted by Tiffany Johnson, and it's about Faith, Easter, or Spring (Mix63).
In addition to the theme, we are to use our favorite go-to mixed media technique. For my card I went with what I call the "squishy watercolor technique". I press various colors of Distress Ink on my craft sheet, mist the ink with water, place a piece of watercolor paper (or die cut) face down into the ink and squish it around a little. Using two dies from the Sizzix Egg framelits set, I die cut two eggs from watercolor paper and proceeded with the squishy watercolor technique. The idea behind the Mix-Ability Challenge is to make mixed media simple and approachable, and to let you experiment using things you already have.

Revisiting some past works has been a lot of fun over on the CASE Study Challenge Blog --hope you've had a chance to play along a bit, as well! The last project Iwona chose was this single-layer botanical design: And here's my take on it, the 2nd time around: (click on the pic to enbiggan) I don't know much about flowers, except what I like... my family always tells me I have a "black" thumb... TRUE STORY!!! Now, if you know me at all, you know I'm insanely crazy about single-layer white cards... Also, I have NO idea if hydrangea blossoms come in reddish tones (will hafta look that up on the interwebs), but I wanted to use that sort of hue on this design, and I absolutely LOVE how the whole color combo worked out!
Thanks for stopping by each week, and many thanks to the crew at the CASE Study Challenge blog for inviting me to be the March Muse--totally AWESOME!!! RiNNE'S BliSS. Paper Lace n Card Nook. STORY TIME: a meltdown allow me to explain... ...i was literally having the worse anxiety attack! You matter. Paper Pleasing Ideas. Stamping Friemds Reunion Challenge this week is all about spring - that is the theme ; spring colors, stamps, spring, spring, spring ! Maybe if we get enough cards out there, it will actually come! I decided to put together a tutorial with this card, as well, my first in a LOOOOONG time! So, let's get started SFR12 Spring Easel Card First up, the things you need. I have the Stampin' Up! Labels dies, and 4 pieces of cardstock : 2 baja breeze (or color of your choice) both sized 4.25 X 5.5 , and 2 white (or your choice) one sized 4.25 X 5.5 and one the is 5.5 X 8.5 (card sized), and scored down the middle at 4.25. So, I cut with the second largest die (marked with red asterisk) both the baja breeze pieces. Then with that same third largest die, you cut out the larger piece of white that you scored.
Then, it is time to score, and try for the center of one of the sides of the fold. On your other piece of white, you can now stamp you images and add all the accessories you want. Linda Heavens.
