If you want the overspray on the letters as I did, go with spray paint. Steps… * Print out selected words {use my template if you wish} then carefully cut out the letters. . * Apply your double stick tape to the back of your letters and . . . * Arrange & stick them to your canvases. * Evenly spray paint your canvases including the edges. . * Once your paint is dry, remove the letters revealing the white canvas background. . * To finish off the canvases, I used the same metal thumb tacks I used on our mini bar …though I didn’t mark the placement out first on these, I just eyeballed it. You will need: a tablecloth (Target has nice thick white ones), craft paint, circle punch, cardstock, freezer paper, tape and a paint brush. Wash and dry your tablecloth. Cut your cardstock into four pieces. Start painting, one color at a time. I had to add more colors after dinner time. Just add cake and turn every day into a celebration. A gorgeous and very economical alternative to paper signs for rustic or country-style weddings! Here’s the ‘How-To’… When you have everything you need – lay down a sheet of wax paper big enough to capture your wording. Then pick the word you want to create and write it out on the wax paper to create a template to follow with your sticky rope! Now cover your rope in glue making sure it’s fully covered!! All done, your beautiful, rustic signage is ready to go!

Tile Coaster Tutorial April 7th, 2010 So my good friend Emily just moved into her completely redone house a few weeks ago, and she asked me to make her some unique coasters. I love the look of these from Target, but $15? Get real. UPDATE! For this tutorial, you’ll need a set of tiles – I got a handful from Home Depot for $0.20 a piece, some scraps of scrapbooking paper or any kind of paper really, some mod podge, clear acrylic spray, and felt pads for the bottom.
First, cut and measure you paper to the fit your tile. Next, clean and dry your tiles – they are much easier to work with if you clean them off thoroughly. After you’ve applied your mod podge top coats, take your tiles out to a well ventilated area and apply two coats of your acrylic spray (I sprayed mine outside in the grass). Cute right! I’m thrilled that this is a growing phenomenon; I adore anything made in exaggerated scale, so I feel that the more giant flowers and plants there are in the world, the better. Keep an eye out for hard cases with stitched seams (for tucking fabric in) and think about using a variety of sizes for great impact. You no longer have to pass up the perfect case shape because of a nick in the vinyl! First, gather your supplies. I used three vintage suitcases that I had on hand and chose three fabrics that coordinated with their colors. , a paint brush, a pen, scissors, a rotary cutter (or a butter knife). Carefully spread a thin layer of Mod-Podge over one third of your case starting at one side. Your fabric should hang over your edge about 1/4" or more.
